One of the sweetest, yet saddest stories I seen.

I broke out in tears while watching this, what with my dad's recent news (he's alive, but the Cancer has him in a terminal state), and my love for pets.. I don't know. Figured this may touch some people.

yeah, saw this video last week and was realy touched that this dog, even though in his final day, knew what it was to have a family to love and comfort him.

I don't know how anyone could not feel moved watching that. I need stuff like this to remind me that there are still plenty good people out there:)

yeah, you normally read more animal abuse stories and bsl victims but when you see something like this you realize that there are plenty of good people still out there.

Shame it's most likely a human's fault that he had this life in the first place.

Last week someone even dumped two dogs (one of which was a puppy) in my yard ffs.

It's extremely touching to see this but also very sad that someone could do this to a dog. These people made a fitting tribute to Ol' Boy.

Great story and video.

Now if only humans treated other humans with such dignity and respect.

Muslim guy at my work hates dogs. Thinks they're unclean and has to wash his hand 7 times after touching one. I tell em MANS BEST FRIEND.

We don't see eye to eye :)

Tell your friend that he's wrong about dogs and Islam. The dogs saliva is considered unclean but that doesn't include the animal as "unclean"

Dogs were used for protection (home) and hunting. So interaction (and respect for all animals) with dogs in the Islamic world has existed since its beginning.

Excellent video, Eli :)

Probably sounds a bit gay, but it's not so much sad as it is beautiful. :lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

that was sad

:monkey2:monkey2 That was very touching and I'm so glad that Ol' Boy did not die alone on the streets. I only wish that he could have been found and taken in sooner. :(

this actually reminds me of a dog I found once,

I was taking the trash out and my Girlfriend saw a dog in the street, we thought he was a lost dog,

he looked similar to this one,
in how beat up she was,

the dog had a lot of bruises in the back and looked like someone was hitting it in the butt with a stick or something, we try to put a leash on it but she couldn't walk a lot, problems with her legs, she could only walk little by little,

she finally made it to my house and we tried to feed it, turns out she was blind, and she had no teeth, completely toothless, we gave her chicken and she ate it, more like passed it down without chewing, then some water,

she kept shaking, she would not stop shaking,
it was late at night, so we left her in the garage and we were going to take her to the vet next day, I would check up on her and she could not sit down, she spend the night just standing there, I tried to leave a blanket and a pillow but she could not sit down,
I tried to make her sit but she couldn't, she didn't make a noise either, she just stood there, shaking,

in the morning we found her laying down in the blanket, not like sleeping laying down, but like if she died, I got scared but she was just resting, I think she just collapsed on the ground by the way she fell on the floor.

Took her to the vet, he saw her and checked her up, she had heart worms I think, and could not live much longer, they said they would "take care of it"
he said she was beat up, and possibly had some bones broken,

I finally left, I really don't know how she ended up in my street, I think someone just dropped her off from a car, she was blind and had no teeth, she had a lot of wounds on her legs and her chest, but the worst was the butt, looked like someone hit her repeatedly,

she looked like this:

cocker spaniel, I think,

I won't lie, it made me cry, I even thought about adopting her, but the Vet said she was too hurt, the only thing they could do is just "take care of it"

I'm not in the mood to watch this at the moment, but the nature of the discussion and the fact that you're a Futurama fan reminds me of one of the few Futurama episodes I watched. It was something about Fry time traveling, and his dog ended up waiting on the pavement for Fry to come back, but he never did. He ended up dying on that pavement I think. I was pretty bummed out about it, credits rolled and I'm left sitting there thinking "wtf did I just watch?"

Edit: just googled it, there was no time traveling in it. The episode was 'Jurassic Bark'.

I don't like reading stories of animal abuse. I swear if I ever saw someone abusing an animal I would go crazy on them and probably end up in jail. I know I would not be able to control myself. Anyone that abuses an animal, child, or defenseless person (handicapped, elderly, etc.) deserves the kind of punishment that we do not allow in this country.
