What do you guys think? Short of being great painter like Costumikey (who can turn Anakin into something great). What do you think? I don't know if I will get anywhere but I even just emailed Sideshow to ask them to repaint my head. This paint is horrible. He looks like an extra in The Last Samurai. It even made me misjudge Obi-Wan which I think is a great figure out of the box. Yes I know nothing can be perferct and that they are better than hasbro. All I ask is that you put all of them on the shelf and really look. The only one that is truly bad is the Anakin. It has nothing to do with the sculpt. At least I don't think so. Then paint is horrible. What do you all think? Me personally we should not have to have art skill to enjoy are figures. Although I am willing to try after Anakin. :monkey1

I'm honestly not that bothered by the paint on Anakin... sure it could have been better, but its not that big a deal to me. And he looks fine on a shelf with the rest of the series.

The Anakin sculpt is terrific. It's the factory paint app that makes one want to kick small puppies into traffic.

I actually don't think Anakin looks that bad. I am most disappointed with Han. His paint job is forgivable...maybe. But the ill-tailored jacket with mis-shapen, crooked pockets is not. His white undershirt also doesn't fit him correctly in the shoulder areas. Detailed clothing and costume design is what interests me most about 1/6 figures, so it was a big disappointment to see the sloppy tailoring job on Han. Especially after owning Luke and thinking that Sideshow would maintain that level of quality work.

True, just have the head repainted and be done (and happy) with it...

Yep. I repainted my Anakin almost as soon as I opened it and it looks a ton better now and I'm happy with it. No more bushy brows, eye liner or lipstick. :chew

Sometimes Anakin's paint job bugs me, sometimes it doesn't. I would love to have it repainted, but I don't think I can manage it myself and I'm too scared of it getting lost in the mail.

Nah, Solo is the worst so far BY FAR!

Yeah, how Solo turned out is worse than either Luke's monkey-arms or Anakin's sub-par paints (not to mention his ill fitting right arms).

The lips are just not that much of an issue for me and most of the others have something that bothers me more:

"Luke" = Arms

"Han" = Likeness/face could have been better...

"Obi-Wan" = Major dissapointement and loss of detail compared to the SDCC prototype!

You must have gotten a good Anakin then. The paint on mine is very thick and makes him look a bit like a mannequin compared to the other SS figures I have. My Sith Ani is much better.

if I wasn't such a perfectionist, I could quite happily have displayed Anakin right out of the box. It's a great 'figure' (taking into account all things... clothes etc) but I don't think it's a great Hayden.

If i had to pick one thing that bothers me about the figure (and this seems to be the exact opposite to most of you guys, lol) it's the sculpt, not the paint. It's a good sculpt, and works wells as a generic anakin, but after the likenesses we're getting of some of the other characters (and I understand not every sculpt can be 100% 'like the actor') but I just can't see Hayden in that sculpt at all.

maybe I ruined myself when I first saw the figure as all I could see was the actor Cary Elwes.... and that's what I still see, lol :rotfl
