Hi guys. First time joining the forum. I do agree Anakin's head sculpt isn't that well done. I felt the better sculptors are Mat Falls( Luke and Han ) and Tim Miller( responsible for the creatures ).

I'm honestly not that bothered by the paint on Anakin... sure it could have been better, but its not that big a deal to me. And he looks fine on a shelf with the rest of the series.

I feel the same way.At first I was unhappy with his paint, but have since come to love my Anakin. I dont even notice his paint app anymore.

Yeah..... I love my Anakin.... He's a fantastic likeness....especially with a simple lip repaint.... :D

I'd say Anakins just as bad as Han, but to me, because of paint Ap. Both have great sculpts, imo, you just need to work on them a little, which sucks because you already threw down atleast $60 on each, and now you gotta do more work. But, what other choice is there for Star Wars 12" this good?

I love and am happy with all my figures. No repaints either. Sure, they could have done better with Anakin's lips or Han's jacket and slightly puffy cheeks, but nothing is "bad" in my humble opinion.

Every time I think something is "off" I just look at my Hasbro counterparts.

Ya know, I didn't find my Hans cheeks puffy or fat at all. Maybe the lighting in my house changes that, but to me he isn't fat-faced at all.

Personally with all the issues these figures have arrived with I think the only good figures are Mace and Kit so far.

Actually, "Jedi Anakin" is my favorite in the SW 12" figures so far.

Mine too. Granted the paint apps aren't what they should be, but the sculpt is possibly the best of the one's I have (still waiting for Obi and Qui-Gon). They all have some minor issue but I just love the Anakin for some reason. The outfit is by far my favorite and the sculpt is one of if not the best.

Insanity. The paint apps are the problem, because Andy's sculpts are dead-on likenesses:

Agree, the rest looks perfect.

Just repaint the lips, it easy to do.
Maybe it's just the lips, but sometimes when I look at mine I see a sassy drag queen.

I just think his face is horrible. He looks nothing like Anakin. I just don't get how people can say what do you expect it's just a 12' inch figure. I payed $60 for that 12' figure. Not the Hasbro $19.99. I can deal with the flaws in the others. I have him in between luke obi and han. He just stands out. I walk in and look at them all together. I just can't help but think Anakin is waiting for Frodo and Sam to come give him some lovin. LOL!:lol

He's really not that bad at all. The scuplt is pretty close to dead-on. It's just a little paint problems.

And besides, it could be worse---It could be made by medicom and cost $120 and look like Natalie Portman.

With medicoms though at least you know what your getting. They don't bait and switch at the last moment. Sideshow is real quick to show you one thing to get you to pre-order. Then when they ship-------Bam! A tranie Star Wars figure with lip stick included. LOL! Can you tell I am very bitter about the figure. As for the Natalee Portman comment. He looks closer to her than Hayden out of box.

I love my Anakin figure, and that Obi Wan does seem to be just about perfect, but in no way could you say that Anakin sculpt is a 'dead on likeness'

Ah, guys, personally I am getting a little tired of this discussion because we covered it already in the Anakin thread...

Let me just say this if you can indulge me for a moment. This sculpt by Andy Bergholtz is amazing, however the paint apps were not up to standard. Below please behold a repaint by Figure Master Les, it is simply stunning and proves my point as the only changes he made besides the repaint were in shaving the jawline...

Can we move on now?

See this is the crap I was talking about in the Plo thread. SS baiting and switching? Give me a flipping break!
