I'm not from China but you guys are idiots..
Sideshow innocent?
Why don't they have their products made in the States then??
They want to make a profit that is why...so they find the cheapest labor they can find. What about quality control? Does Sideshow have no say in that? Sideshow innocent
Is China forcing Sideshow to have their products made over there?

Everyone has issues with quality control...Bowen had sloppy paint apps from a certain factory...moore has had packing issues, again from a certain factory...fact is, ssc, csmoore and bowen need to micro manage the factory in china but that has to be near impossible.

Fact is china is here to stay, to make the products here in the us, no oone would be able to afford them.

We'd be able to afford them if companies weren't out to get 600% profits.

Look at Attakus - they make their stuff in France and the prices reflect that. It's no better than stuff made in China, but because of where it's manufactured the pricing is twice as much as it would be.

A good example of good quality control using cheap labor is Hot Toys. They have their headquarters in Hong Kong so it is easier to monitor the factories. Not so easy for Sideshow being across the Pacific and everything....not to mention the language barrier.

Unless like other companies (Weta, etc) you pay an employee to live there and monitor production first-hand all the time.

That is complete BS.

Hmmm how is it BS?

Hot Toys can send someone over to the factory in a car or a short plane ride. Sideshow has to send someone over in a long plane ride. Or they have to hire someone to live there and monitor the factory. Multiply that by more people if the factories are far apart. All this adds to expenses which not all companies are willing to do.

Not trying to defend Sideshow but they definitely have to put in more effort and money to monitor production compared with Hot Toys. And they should when you consider how much they are charging.

It is bs because if they wanted to they easily could. Thousands of comapnies do it. Infact I bet there is a company that helps other companies do that. We have some out sourcing at our company and we have people over there AND we have people from over there here. It can be done. That is not fing excuse of you ask me.

You should read my post.
Where was I ever finding an excuse for Sideshow? All I was saying was that Hot Toys can monitor and correct their products more easily because the factory is closer to home base. Just because Sideshow is located in America doesn't mean they can let the Chinese factories do whatever they want.

No ???? that is my point. They have no excuse and they shouldn't let the factories do what they want. They either need to figure out some way to do it from here or they need to send someones *** over there. If the want to be the best they need to invest in quality.

:lecture :lecture :lecture

They can do it, unless they are just cheap *****...

They do take relatively frequent trips to China to supervise production, but someone full-time might be essential at this point; until corners stop being cut.

Attakus' paint doesnt flake off and they are all solid, not hollow.

I believe that I stated Sideshow "might" be innocent in this particular case. Not that they are without blame. And I point out that I argue a case for Sideshow's possible not probable innocents. That being said, quality control is difficult to say the least in an unregulated country. Have any kids? Even the most watchful parent will turn their back long enough for a child to do what they aren't supposed to because kids are ALWAYS waiting for that opportunity!

And yes, they most likely are looking for the cheapest labor they can find. And while part of that blame falls on Sideshow, its nearly impossible for a company to compete that DOESNT follow the outsourcing suit! As stated before its American greed that drives these choices, however you only need one greedy party to perpetuate the trend. If you're playing cards with a cheater you have to cheat to win. You take the moral high ground and you might as well not even play.

And you can blame anyone you want for greed, ignorance or turning a blind eye, but that doesnt absolve the one committing the crime! If someone pays you to pull the trigger you're still guilty of murder even if it wasn't your idea!
