Final eFX sidebar comment here, haha, I hope some of the early MR 1:1 sabers are done again, different in some way as not to devalue things for the MR owners, but available again for those who missed out. All the first wave, I'd love to own but was way way wayyyy out of my budget when they came out, I'd love to get the Luke Hero saber and an AOTC/TPM Obi-Wan saber, and of course Maul 1:1.

The TPM Obi-Wan saber is a grail of mine, but I can not justify the close to 600.00 price tag I keep seeing on it. It is the one thing I am hoping that eFX makes, though their comments have not made me feel like they are going to revisit much.

BTW, on the SSC homepage, on the banner for the new Radio, there is a new (though small) image of this bust. Very shadowed, but at the same time very cool!

It'll depend on presentation. I have a feeling that because so many folks from MR are over there amongst I'm sure a good number of new employees, you'll see new pieces never done mixed in with pieces already done but in the newer eFX style similar to the way that SSC has handled the 12" SW line releasing things that were never done before but mixing in fan favorites into the mix.

Look for them though to focus heavily on the Helmet line, MR fully knew how much of a money maker that could be if it were done properly and if the kinks were worked out and fully had intentions to have it replace the Lightsabers line as a whole. I guarantee we'll see more helmeted offerings from eFX than anything else at first.....many of the molds were already there....

The TPM Obi was an Elite Edition, idealized and stands out amazingly next to the Qui-Gon counterpart. Its definitely a great piece and I love mine but it was done to give EE collectors a piece never done before and never done again kind of idea. The TPM Obi wasn't even on the planning lists to be done in LE before the license fell though, they caught enough crap from releasing an EE Luke ANH then releasing an LE/SE a few months later.

That being said a completely accurate TPM Obi has never been mass produced so I wouldn't be shocked if it were done by eFX because even if the presentation were exactly the same it'd look completely different next to one another.

I will definitely be watching eFX for an ANH Obi Weathered but in terms of collecting past pieces there isn't much I feel my collection is hurting without.

True, but the AOTC version, which yes has differences still reaches as high as the Elite Edition TPM one. So, either way, I'm paying a hefty price....had I known in the beginning, I would have settled for the AOTC version when they were first up for order.

is it me or do his eyes look closed. I would gues they are open right? There's no way Sideshow would do that is there? Here's hoping for better pics soon, apparently pre-order is on Thursday.... as if you didn't all know.

D

It's just the lighting of the photo and it's not conducive to really pulling out detail. I did similar with the Sidious 1/6 figure when that preview image came out and it looks OK but not as good as the actual figure turned out, and owning 2 of the SW 1:1 busts, I know what can be expected, so I know this will only look better with each new image.

Well exposure would certainly do them favorably. Granted, most of us around here are familiar with GG, SSC and MR, but if you think of the numbers of people that buy Sideshow Star Wars figures compared to how many post here, there could be thousands that aren't even aware MR existed, so having someone like Sideshow could get your name out to an even greater audience.

Thousands do know MR exists. Just look at your local Best Buys and Hastings, etc. They all sell MR FX lightsabers and .45 scale mini lightsabers. This was MR's bread and butter lines.

The eyes look a bit odd, but it is hard to say so far; but who am I kidding? My order is as good as in.

:lol
