I live in Ireland. I keep it beside my desk. My case is a CM Storm Stryker.
Cooler Master Gaming » Products: Stryker
I have installed Aerocool fans over the stock ones(which are fine), 3 on the front, 1 exhaust, I kept the stock 200mm top exhaust fan, 1 more in front of the PSU and 1 more on my cooler. The case has a built in controller.
I use the default ACX cooler on my GPU as well :wink1:

BF4 is really demanding..... but it looks crazy good.. :rotfl

That case is glorious. Wish I had one. :(

Do you guys have your PSU fans facing up, or down? :lol Mine are facing up. It's probably ******ing up the air flow.

That it is, ironically the alternative black version is called the Storm Trooper, but this one looks more like a Stormtrooper than the black one :lol

I guess they didnt want to get sued :lol

I'm really looking into the specs. Seems amazing. And buff. Are those fans for your HDs and SSDs?

Good cooler... I like Corsair stuff, especially the i series...

It's actually a cheapo cooler from Corsair, with mixed reviews :lol. I'm not really interested in doing any serious overclocking, I just want to get my temperatures under control, as they've been pretty high lately.

Then with the money from your eBay auction, return your current card and get a 970. :D

Eh, not likely :lol. The 970 seems like a more efficient card for power savings, but I like the 780 that I have; got it on sale, too. Plus, Asus did a really nifty cooling design and it came factory overclocked.

But, doesn't this usually happen with every new card generation, that something gets released and "wows" the tech world? It seems like that's what the R9 290x did two years ago, but now people are saying that it's obsolete because of the 970. In general, tech can be maddening if you try to keep up with it. Just look at the iPhone 5s users who were depressed that the 6 got released this year with a bigger screen (although, I'm pretty satisfied with mine) :rotfl.

I have to say that's a really incredible looking case!

My PSU's actually facing down. I heard it makes it makes it more power efficient, since it's always vacuuming cold air from the bottom of the case. Can't you just change the orientation of your case?

My PSU fan is on the top of the PSU, but its a Corsair 760i, and its fan rarely ever switches on, it comes on when it gets hot, but the temps in the case are usually cool and even under load its still pretty cool. While it may disrupt airflow, I would say its more likely to just grab some cold air. I have a fan just in front of it blowing intake air up, so I guess it wouldn't cause mush disruption....

I just have single SSD, its a Samsung EVO 840, for storage I use 2 External drives, each 4TB. I didnt want bulky drives blocking airflow in my case so I went with that setup and its worked well so far. I placed the SSD just to the side of the HDD cages so I could access it by taking the side panel off, and it keeps wires from blocking airflow too, although I cant wait to get my new motherboard because the one I have now, the Sata ports face out instead of off to the side like modern boards.....

Hey if does the job hehe.....

and Thanks

By the way guys, I've been wondering, what are your thoughts on SLI and Crossfire? Is it a worthwhile investment, and do a lot of games now support multiple GPUs now? I've been thinking, I might pick up another graphics card in December to pair with my current one.

I have 2 780 ti's and haven't had any problems at all. I think a few games I had a wait a few weeks for SLI support but not long and not many games. Well worth it IMO.

That's awesome. I'll definitely look into it then. I'm not big into overclocking, and it's good that the 780 has dropped in price, so I can pick up another one soon.

I recently bought Zotac's overclocked GTX 780 from Provantage for ~$370. They have a hassle-free return policy, so I'm debating returning it and saving up for Zotac's overclocked 980 when it comes out. As nice as the 780 is, I'd rather not have to buy a new card in another year or two.

Sounds like a no brainer to me, I have my 770 Classified a few months now and I'm definetly gonna upgrade to the 980 Classified when its out, I'll probably just sell my 770, rather than return it

Not everything supports SLI, and it's a bit buggy, it's best to have the fastest single card you can afford.

But, doesn't Nvidia regularly release driver support for SLI compatibility in games?

From the reviews that I've read, you won't see a noticeable performance gain between the 780 and 980. But, the area where you will see an improvement, is in power consumption, where the 900 series cards are generally more efficient.

What kind of monitor do you have by the way? Are you using a 1080p monitor, or have you upgraded to a 1440p or 4K display?

As for me, I got the Asus version of the 780 on sale last week, and I'm keeping it. It has more CUDA cores than the 970, which allows it to render images faster in CAD software.

I've always wondered, are there any advantages of the Classified cards aside from the factory overclocks?

I've got a 1080p monitor, 24". Nothing super-fancy.

Just to emphasize, the card I recently bought was not a 780ti. Just an overclocked 780. Seems to me like the 980 has noticeable frame rate improvements and I feel the difference will be even greater with an overclocked version. I could wait for a Classified as well... wish we knew when either that or Zotac's AMP! Extreme version would be released.

They do, but it's not perfect and things will crash more often, there's also not support for every game. And there's other things where SLI isn't supported, like if you're a 3D artist there's almost no 3D software that supports SLI.
The developer is also part of making things work in SLI, so Nvidia doesn't have control over it all just from drivers. And developers are not designing the game with SLI in mind, they might do something a certain way that works fine normally, but with SLI it has problems. They don't usually go back and change how something works to fix it.

Factory Overclocks are for the Superclocked versions, Classifieds are a class onto themselves :lol for when you want to get serious with overclocking.
They usually come with a custom PCB and are designed for extreme overclocking
Ironically though you would need to buy a watercooling unit before attempting to overclock it which it doesnt come with:dunno, I wouldn't recommend it with the ACX cooler, I havent overclocked it yet so I still use the default ACX cooler on mine :dunno
