I wonder how Pascal will be able to handle frame-rates at 4K. I'm still gaming at 1080p, and aside from some mild DSR scaling, I haven't really taken the plunge into higher resolutions as yet.

Can only imagine how much it's going to cost... at least it's money well spent.

Congrats.

Say goodbye to your ps4 unless the rare exclusive comes out (even then you'll say why it looks like crap compared to a PC game).

Thanks. I've been telling Solidus, I've been living in the middle ages with my piece of **** PC, that is 9 years old this year. It's cluttered with so much crap, and I can't free up disk space even though I'm dumping entire folders and clearing out my useless programs.

I will be getting a better graphics card in the future, or at least pairing another GTX 950 with the one I'm getting. But for the games I got on my list to play, this should be more than enough to run them smooth as silk. I could barely run Counter Strike Source on my current setup.

As for PS4, I'm pretty tired of playing the same crap over and over. The PC should be shipped out next week.

Notice how I'm rarely on the PS4? You'll see why soon enough :lol.

I was going to play Dying Light, but then I got side-tracked with the Steam release of MechWarrior Online... I'm near 130 hours now.

I was looking stuff up on Counter Strike. They came out with a newer version "Global Offensive" but it seems generally the same thing with better graphics. All the zombie escape maps carried over. I probably put over 1,000 hours into CS:S :lol

I tested Battlefront and it gets around 30FPS at full settings in 4k, but Far Cry Primal gets less than that. It looks fantastic though.

Yeah, figured it would dip. Are you SLI? What monitor do you have?

I wanna try it on my 4K TV but I'm scared my PC would explode.

Just a single GTX980. I'm using the Samsung JS8500 4K TV, regular monitor is an Asus 144hz 1080p
Could be some framerate loss due to lack of memory, 4GB might not be enough. I'm not willing to turn down settings so I'll get a new card at some point. I do 3D stuff so I want to get the fastest single GPU since many programs don't support SLI.

I have the Oculus coming, so I probably won't get the Vive, most of the stats between the two are the same or marginally different, though Oculus has more support (Eve Valkyrie should be pretty great). The biggest difference is that the Vive comes with the motion controllers while the Oculus Touch controllers come out later this year.
The tech works, and developers are very interested in working with it which should give it a boost, but it's a matter of how many people will be willing to buy it. I think the sales of the dev kits are a pretty good indicator, though they said they are for developers I doubt that stopped anyone who was interested and had the money. So I don't see the consumer version selling that much better just because it's the official consumer version, and because it's significantly more expensive.

They're very pricey, indeed. I think I'd rather upgrade my GPUs first, and then see how well VR is doing down the road before I decide. Do post your impressions when you get your Oculus!

I'd really like to test out VR eventually in Elite Dangerous and MechWarrior Online.

Anyone on division? I just started playing last night.

I'll give you a heads up when I get it on Steam (maybe in a few weeks). How do you like it so far?

Division seems to be "repetitive". I really don't know what people expected from an online shooter TBH.

I'm now playing Fallout 4 for the first time. It's loads of fun!

The Division is more akin to Mass Effect than a 3rd person shooter, just without the other characters following along.

Are you playing solo? I can't say this game is fun by yourself.

Sorry, I should've clarified. Based on steam reviews, it seems to be a bit repetitive. Haven't touched it myself, but I'll likely get it later now. Fallout is just too much fun.

Man, the reviews don't seem good at all.

On another note, I spilled some water into my Das Keyboard 4 while attempting to clean it four days ago. In the mean time, I was using a wireless Logitech replacement board as I waited for the Das board to dry off. I didn't realize how much I missed mechanical switches until I didn't have them anymore :lol.

Is the only thing you can do is just let it dry?
