i have both a mac pro tower and an alienware aurora alx.
i paid 5000 for the mac and i paid 2700 for the alienware. honestly, i prefer the alienware and iam a graphic designer. now with windows 7 there hasent been any problems for me.

Not to start another trash talking fight, but Alienware's are overpriced. My brother bought one back in 2003 with all the bells and whistles for just over $4k and six months later I built one for less than $1200 that ran circles around it. Their CS is also on the intellectual level of a Spanish speaking Dalmation.

The outside is cool but my tower looks clean on the inside. No ugly wires all over the place. Sorry, but the internal parts of your computer look like a hot mess. Apple designs their machines to look beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. Clean look is their deal. Not cluttered and messy, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah, based on what he spent on his machines it sounds like he paid too much on both setups. Oh well, some people got no concept of money or they have too much to blow, or think they do anyway. Oh well.
I heard Alienware computers also have a lot of issues, my animation professor has one and he's had a lot of problems with it.

My brother had to have the video card replaced 3 times on it. This takes me back to the "CS people are idiots" statement. My brother was a computer animation major so he knows a couple things about computers, but every time he had to call them for assistance they'd take him through so much BS to diagnose his video card it was ridiculous.
