Love both of these Bee! Will definitely be special for the family. :)
Thank you sir! I was happy with the way they turned out. Learning loads of stuff on every shoot. :)

And I'll pile on the praise for that poor lil' Monkey hand. It's awesomely heartbreaking.

Thanks guys, that's definitely my favorite one as well. It does make it seem sadder than it was, as those bars were just a connective part between two pretty big areas where they can roam free. However, a cage is still a cage, and they really did not seem very happy.

Great stuff. :clap

Did you get permission in all cases?

Also, did you use a reflector in "Street 7"?

The only permission I got was from the gentlemen in street 7, he was more than happy to pose for me...I have some more posed street portraits like that if you look at my Flickr...And no reflectors used in any of my pics so far, I have a 5 in 1 reflector, but I'm usually by myself when I go shooting, so I have no one that can hold it for me :lol....So yeah, I make do with the natural light...

You're using a long lens then?

No, just my prime 50mm lens...I just raise the camera to me eye and take the shot...Of course I have had some ppl notice me taking their picture and most just go about their business and don't pay me any attention, but a few have openly told me no, so I say ok, and thank them anyway and walk away...It doesn't happen often tho...

I see. What 50mm do you use?

This one? [ame]https://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-Lens-Digital-Cameras/dp/B000I1YIDQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339709615&sr=8-1&keywords=Canon+1.2[/ame]

Ah, okay. When you said "prime" I was thinking big. :lol

Just goes to show that skill is more important than lens. I have this one: [ame]https://www.amazon.com/Canon-Standard-Medium-Telephoto-Cameras/dp/B00009XVCZ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1339710534&sr=1-1&keywords=Canon+1.4[/ame] (also a great value) and my pics don't look nearly as good as yours. :duff

Well thank you very much for that compliment man...In all honesty tho, I've only been at this for a couple years, so I'm far from skilled and as good as other photographers out there...So trust me I'm still learning and still have alot to learn...The main thing is to just keep shooting...

2 of my personal faves from the last week. :) Not to overload the next post with sepia tones or anything.

And those Street shots above are spectacular JC!!

general question for the pros...........

my wife surprized me on my birthday with a new camera, a canon powershot sx150..........it is 100x better than what i was using (an old HP pos) and i like it a lot so far.

i've read a few reviews on it and mostly good with the exception of battery life when shooting video. i think she picked it up for about $150 new. i've only had it about a week and played with it just a few times just shooting in auto. will delve into it more settings as i have time.

i was just wondering if anyone owns/used one & what they think of it?
