Looks more like Michael Jackson. shameful

That's actually kinda cool. If you are obsessed that much with a character it makes sense. Plus other people do a lot worse to their bodies nowadays.

There is nothing cool about being so obsessed with a character that you pay someone to chop up your face and install parts to make you look different. That is a mental illness. :lecture

I don't see much difference between this and a biker/rockstar covering his arms and chest with tattoos. :dunno

But how's he going to fly and shoot lasers out of his eyes? :dunno

I was going to agree with this at first. Both are a permanent (for the most part) physical expression of a person's identity. The problem is, this guy isn't Superman. It strikes me far more as an attempt to eliminate his identity. It's not the same as getting a Superman tattoo, or dressing up as Superman for Halloween or a convention.

Was a time when all I needed to convince myself I was Superman was a pair of red undies and bath towel.

But many who dress up as the character for conventions and such would do this if they could. I'm in the 501st and these guys come to the events already dressed as the character, have the tattoos and even have permanent decals (really large decals) all over their vehicles. I really don't see why taking one more step with plastic surgery is really that big of a deal.

Plastic surgery nowadays is darn near an outpatient procedure and is becoming cheaper and cheaper. I really expect to see a lot more of this soon.

And going back to the tattoos analogy, the newest thing is implants in tattoos. How far away are we from bikers getting "tires" implanted in to their tattoos or "guitars, strings, fingerboards" implanted in to rocker tattoos. Heck, we may even see playable instruments implanted soon enough. (And don't start the skinflute jokes :nana:)

There is a huge difference in my eyes between someone getting a tattoo, or plastic surgery and someone who gets anything done to make them look like a specific person. That to me is mental issue and that person is ill.
