What I find really interesting is the inclusion of the blonde hair strands. Maybe there's a plot point in the film that explains them and it's not just a continuity error.

Maybe they're not blond, but gray?

Definitely blonde in the Comic Con video.

I think in the Comic-Con teaser with Depp all dressed up he had some blond looking hair added to his hair stuff

I know, that's what I mean, seeing that at first had me thinking they just didn't match his wig properly to the 3 other films, but the fact that those strands are featured in the teaser poster leads me to think there's something siginificant to them that'll be part of the story and they're not just a continuity error on the part of the prop folks. Of course Jack also has a new scar/makr on his right cheek in that video. Really eager to see what goes on in this movie.

I noticed the blonde strands too, but I didn't really think of them having any significance. It's a good possibility though. I'm really intrigued by the movie and very hopeful its as good as the first.

I'd be relieved if there's a plot point to them that's explained, I woudl hate for it to just be a blatant continuity error.

There's no way it's an error, but that doesn't mean it will be explained.
If you want continuity errors, supposedly the number of gold teeth Jack has in Black Pearl varies because the execs watching dailies kept giving notes to take some out. Depp would remove a few for a couple of days and then put them back in. I think it's on the commentary track.

I don't see it as a continuity error, should it not be explained. People redo their hair all the time... Who knows how long this will take place after At World's End? :dunno

Granted, if it continues right where the last film ended, then yes, it'll be a continuity error. If not, well I guess Jack just wanted a hairchange :lol

You know what? Maybe it has something to do with the fountain of youth, that made jack older for a period of time, and the color is gray, not blonde. You heard it here first, folks.

It may have significance to it and Disney is playing it down but I remember after Comic-Con there was a quote that the blonde was simply Jack having been out on the waters since the events of AWE and the sun both tanning him and lightening his hair. Sunkissed if you will. Whether that was a way to get us to stop asking to hide a plot point we'll see but I've always been satisfied with it.

I don't see it as a continuity error. Not sure if the "He's been out on the water" makes much sense though since I'm pretty sure he'd spent a fair amount of time at sea prior to the first movie.

I think that with each movie they add new little details here and there so that we'll buy more action figures.

Johnny Depp = The man that it's ok for men to love.

Folks, you heard it here first.

LOL...........I wonder what he does to keep himself grounded...that much universal love would go to most people's heads, yet he keep it real...........I am no longer mad at him for leaving 21st Jump Street anymore!!!! :)

You notice they even left off the charm on the headband since it got burnt up with the rest of the Bretheren's pieces of eight? Nice little detail (or lack thereof) there.

Curious though, they left out the claw he replaced it with.
