I wonder if there are decent options out there to bash a Captain Barbossa should they skip the pirate outfit.

I can't imagine he'll spend the whole movie in that garb though...I bet he spends a large part of the beginning of the film in it, then switches into his classic pirate gear and says a quick one liner about how he hates the formal wear. Or something.
