Its funny that people see ONE promo picture (not even a film still) and all the sudden they think the movie will suck or that Jack will be an entierly differnet character.

All I said was I didn't like the promo pic

And sure Jack has his badass moments, but if that were the primary focus of his character, he wouldn't be half as interesting as he is. I just personally prefer it when they focus on the eccentric and charismatic nature of the character, that's all.

I liked all of them, though 3 is the weakest. Can't wait for this one!

3 does have it's highlights though, I love the ending scenes, Jack going all honest on the girls, and the final shot of him setting sail for the Fountain is just great, beautiful imagery capped with a great rendition of Jack's theme.

Will it really not make sense? I thought this was like a new plot line where as the other 3 sort of followed Orlando Bloom and Kierra or something?

I'll try one at a time I guess, honestly the only thing that sparked my attention on this one was Blackbeard being played by the most badass man alive.

Not really digging this banner to be quite honest. It doesn't really speak to the character of Jack Sparrow IMO. Jack doesn't run around with a badass pissed off look on his face rocking two pistols (where did the second one come from anyway?). A cocky smile, knowing wink and nonchalant stance says Jack Sparrow.

Why can't Jack be tough and still witty and comical? Can he not be badass for one second?

I like the poster and I like the banner that was posted as well. If you look closely on the banner, it kinda looks like Jack has a bit of a silly face trying to pull off a serious badass face. He kinda looks like a kid pouting to me.
