Shows how serious the movie seemed to me, I didn't even read into the line that way, I just took it as Jack looking out for Syrena's survival for the ritual.

Weird. That line by far got the biggest laugh and reaction from the crowd of anything else in the film when I saw it.

I thought this was the funniest one so far. Not the best but definatly the funniest .

Yeah, that got the biggest laugh. I think this movie was confused if it was supposed to be more serious or funny.

Just throwing in some random thoughts about the movie. I found it enjoyable, though I missed the characters from the previous installments. I never ever thought I'd say this but Angelica made me miss Elizabeth. And I really, really didn't like Elizabeth.

Couple of gripes:
I thought Angelica weakened Blackbeard's character tremendously. I just don't buy that the most fearsome pirate of all time would give a hoot about any kids that he might have, especially a daughter. And then to make that daughter his first mate. Bah, Blackbeard's a softie. Give me heartless Davy Jones please.

Was there any explanation for the powers that Blackbeard's sword and ship had? I thought there was a sort of explanation for Blackbeard's state, I guess you'd call it, but I can't recall that either.

I know Disney and historical accuracy is an oxymoron, but what was up with the Spanish being the religous heroes, so to speak? No way would they or the British would no something so "noble", not without an alterior, less "Christian" motive. Hmm...

The missionary's position line got a good laugh, but the line that got the biggest laugh in my theatre was Jack's response to Angelica when she told him
that she loved him

Well, he clearly didn't give much of a hoot. He did mean to let her die in the end.

Also, even though Davy Jones' literal heart was gone, he had much more of a heart than Blackbeard imo. I actually remember feeling for and caring about his character. Not so with Blackbeard. He was just an a-hole pure and simple.

I took that line to mean "I love me too."

Yep, so did I. And everyone else in the theatre. :lol

That's true. I thought that made Jones all the more cruel, though.
I felt the cruelness was lacking in Blackbeard's treatment of Angelica. I dunno. I just don't think the guy would've been the type to have even pretended to care which is what it seemed like he was doing. I guess even with my low expectations, I was still expecting too much. I felt he should grabbed the aqua de vida out of Jack's hands with evil triumphant or something. Dude was a jerk, but just not as bad as I was hoping he'd be.

I'd take Angelica over Elizabeth any day.. I couldn't stand that fake pretentious British accent.... oh wait.. it was real.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Elizabeth by any means. But Angelica was so irritating that it made me miss Elizabeth. And that's something. Not a good something either. :lol

Did anyone stay and see the scene after the end credits?

Elizabeth is the better character by a long shot IMO.

She is the girl out of place. A totally different character than the pirates she gets surrounded with. And yet, during the first three films we see her character change from a wealthy governor's daughter into a pirate, which is pretty awesome to me! :rock

Angelica wasn't a bad character, but they made her too "piraty" if you know what I mean. I understand the concept of it all, being a perfect match to Jack, in both a good way as well as an antagonistic way, because they are a lot alike...
But it just didn't work, IMO, because of pretty much no character development for the new characters...

Thank God we knew much about Jack and Barbossa from the other films, because if this was the only POTC film, they would never have become so iconic and popular.
