Worked for me the second time, but since then I've stopped using stand-by mode. Will just turn the system off going forward until this gets patched.

On another Playstation note, how many people have a Vita and thoroughly enjoy using it? Is there anyone who has one and does not use it at all? In both instances I would like to get fellow Freaks' opinion on the system. I'm going to be traveling more for work soon and will need some entertainment. Is this worth the purchase?

Nevermind, it did it again yesterday, it was loading but it didn't have any UI just the blue stuff and it froze.

Depending on what games you're interested in playing. Uncharted was really good and Killzone was decent IMO. I haven't been using mine lately because I haven't had much time, but when travelling I loved it. Maybe consider looking for a used one?

Thanks for the input. I heard that there are some good games out there. I think I will bite the bullet and pick one up. Beats lugging my PS4 with me.

Sony just tweeted that update 2.01 is coming soon to fix the Coma Mode, I mean Rest mode issues. Hope it will be in time for GTAV.

Nice. I hope they're faster with future updates. I don't want to wait a year before getting MP4 playback and a real audio player!

I'm really disappointed how Sony has handled this update. While it's stupid that they didn't catch the Rest Mode bug, given that it seems to have effected virtually everyone's PS4, I understand that bugs happen. And I understand that it may take some time and testing to resolve the issue. What I don't understand, however, is why they didn't pull the 2.0 update as soon as issues were reported, but instead are still distributing it. People's consoles are locking up in rest mode and the only way to bring the console back to life is to essentially kick the plug out of the socket and risk data loss - and Sony's still letting people download this update? Unbelievable.

By comparison, when Apple released the iOS 8.0.1 update in September that caused some 40,000 iPhones to lose cellular capability, they pulled the update within an hour of release - then released 8.0.2 with the issues addressed the very next day. THAT'S how you handle a software mistake.

It's pretty clear these consoles were rushed out bare bones to meet release date. Us poor suckers are gonna be drip fed stuff that should be standard in 2014.

Updated and still get the blinking orange light on my system but now i have no trouble with rest mode, turns on okay but the blinking orange light bugs me so who knows if this update fixed the issue or not.

EDIT: nevermind, no more blinking orange light so im guessing everything is okay now with my PS4, goes in and out of sleep mode with no trouble at all. sheesh man, sucky 2.0 update hope something like this never happens again.

Xbox one is a no-brainer, i like halo, i Like dead rising. if i want to play those, i need an Xbox one.

Square is now multiplatform. So is metal gear....

Can anyone recommend me a good reason TO get a ps4, once prices come down to a sane level, and a better designed V2 hits the market? ( and no, that's not a *** at it, i just personally don't trust launch editions. i'm waiting for a cheaper v2 on the XBone as well)

Right now I'd say The Last of Us for PS4. Uncharted is another good reason to pick up a PS4, and once a God of War is announced then it's a no-brainer IMO.

I've already got a PS3, never played the uncharted series. I know i need too. and yeah, it's pretty, but graphics are not the biggest deal for me. ( I know, MASSIVE game backlog, another reason i don't mind waiting a bit for new console releases)

Right now no. Currently the best games are updated versions of PS3 games, I think getting a PS4 next November would be the smartest thing, by then there should be a few AAA games released, and possibly a price drop.

There aren't a ton of great exclusive games for it, Last of Us Remastered is the best, but there's lots of good multi-platform games for it. It will change early next year though, with Bloodborne and The Order
