If a new report is to be believed, it looks like nearly all PlayStation 4 games will be required to support Remote Play on the PS Vita. The rumor comes courtesy of "a trusted PlayStation 4 developer source" to Eurogamer, who states Sony is mandating Remote Play on all PS4 games that don't require the PS4 Eye camera.

Sony certainly made a big deal of PS4's Gaikai-fueled Remote Play during the console's announcement event. Today's report also jives with previous statements from Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida. Back in February, Yoshida told Engadget that Sony was requesting all developers test their games on Remote Play before submitting them for certification, though he made no mention of a mandate.

Of course, the Vita doesn't have as many inputs as a DualShock 4, though Yoshida noted that developers can create custom control schemes for the Vita that make use of contextual buttons on its touch screen.

I hope the PS4 is not Region Locked like PS3, because living in the Middle east we get Both

The chances of Sony changing things now is somewhere between slim and none. They got a few weeks to change the focus of the presentation but to change features this late in the game would be very hard to pull off. One is there is already likely agreements in place for things like used games (unless no game development has started and that's a whole bigger issue). Other major changes could force delays in the release of the system(never good).

Judging by how few publishers and retailers had knowledge of Microsoft's DRM schemes (Gamestop reportedly found out later than gamers did) post-announcement, I'd bet that the situation is fluid, and DRM plans aren't concretely implemented as of yet on both sides.

Sony's Yoshida confirms all PlayStation 4 games work with Vita via Remote Play (with minor exceptions)

Sony's PlayStation Vita is getting a major content boost when the PlayStation 4 launches later this year, as all PlayStation 4 games will run on the Vita via Remote Play. The only exceptions offered by Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida were, "unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera [PS4 Eye]." It also stands to reason that PlayStation Move-specific titles won't run via Remote Play, nor anything else that requires peripheral hardware (the Buzz! series, for example).

The PlayStation 4's Remote Play functionality with the Vita is said to be far more robust than its previous PlayStation 3 / PlayStation Portable iteration. Developers can even put Vita-specific controls in their PS4 games, enabling Wii U-esque second screen functionality, Yoshida told us earlier this year. We'll have our Vitas on-hand at E3 in a few weeks when we expect Sony will offer first hands-on with its next gaming console.

Can't wait for this... if they bundle a PS4 and Vita, I'm buying day one.

I sold my Vita purely because I found the analog sticks way to small & I couldn't control them properly. They should of been made as big as the analogs on a control pad

Or just buy a Vita
And buy a PS4

Well yeah but I want to wait for a price drop(Japan got one months ago) and games I want to play, like Killzone which isn't out until October.

If they don't announce anything new for the Vita at E3, I may just buy one soon.

I can guarantee major publishers knew about this. For this to work Microsoft had to establish how this would work and provide info to devs, and in reality every publisher would have know about this already unless they have not even started to dev any games for the systems. They probably have NDAs in place and if they say anything they would have huge fines and that's why they are saying we didn't know.

Enaction of DRM would be handled primarily on the platform side. I don't think much needs to be done on the publishers side, though I suppose there's legal stuff that needed to be done between Msoft and them. In any case, publishers make half the equation. We'll see at E3 how firm Microsoft (and potentially Sony) stand with the new policies.

Warframe coming to PS4.. its a previously released title on PC

I can't wait until next week. Hopefully, the man, or, rather, the system, behind the curtain will make itself known.
