:dunno

That was the very 1st comment regarding Online gaming and I quickly corrected from that, after that everybody started posting sources about how it would require PSN+, maybe it's you who can use some drugs after all :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Still none of that has done a single thing to back up your nonsensical claims... :dunno

Or is it you amongst those who "hear what they want to hear"?
Wait if it was clearly said then why were you confused. They double talked it and got lots of people to bite. Lucky for those people others actually caught what they were really saying.

Yes I have put the links up, I am sick of having to out it up every damn post.

I don't mind paying for PLUS if Sony really beefs up their online servers, support, and security. They need to catch up to Live in that sense. I mean hell, Live will update a game at 4am and PSN at 4pm that same day. The Last of US will be available for download as of midnight, so that gives me hope that Sony is figuring out: gamers don't like to wait
Yeah many people seem to like Live a lot more (I didn't even know about PSN's lag in updates haha), so I hope Sony uses these fees the way they should to improve things. :)

But does this also mean we can have offline playing with PS3? Even if the game publishers want to some how check if you are supposed to be plaing thier games?
Sony won't require it, but I think it's up to the publishers. Some games might need the online check, some might not, so unfortunately we have to wait and see. We can only hope that the goodwill Sony got today is a sign to the publishers that many gamers don't like the direction the industry is going. :)

If publishers could restrict games so, then Microsoft wouldn't have to implement restrictions into their console.

Publishers can't block game sharing/selling on PS4

At most they could implement the season pass unlock stuff they've already been using.

That only applies to the Xbox One games though. On that console the publisher will have the choice to use the framework that Microsoft has created.
On PS4 there is not framework for that
Sony already said they have the ability for publishers to decide, just left the extra part out today.

*sigh, I wasn't confused, I incorrectly thought MP would remain free, later, I was directed to the correct information, not by you, btw, by Lerath666.

Apart from the fact that PSN+ will be required, which by no means tilts the scale any closer to MS, the rest of your comments are pure speculation.

Given fan reaction to XBONE and PSN regarding their positions on Used games, and online gaming 'check ins,' it'll be curious which publishers enforce it

Xbox was a hunk of junk anyways.

I went thru 3, and BF3 still freezes, and it's freaking ventilated.

I still have my original PS3.

It's just that I got very accustomed to Xbox Live.

Syonara Xbox Live.

Man MS got spanked bad.

Exactly, no online authentication, no used games blocks, pretty much all they can do is do the MP code all over again.

Which is fine by me, I only play MP on a handful of games.

I love LIVE - mostly for its fast updates, top notch servers (games vary), and security. Sony needs to make the PSN update a major priority. Plus requirement for online games seems to indicate that they are (hopefully) gonna beef the PSN up

It was already confirmed earlier, but I feel it should be restated just in case people missed it:

Online multiplayer on PS4 will require a PSN+ subscription, which is ~$5 a month, which adds to ~$60 a year. Those who are already on PS+ will be rolled into PSN+ on PS4.

I practically never play online, but it's still not great news.

On the upside, with a PSN+ subscription you do get a free PS4 game each month:

I did too, but not gonna lie: A mad max type game could rock. Borderlands seems to have this corner of the post apocalyptic universe covered, so we shall see
