This close to the next gen launch, I'm sure R* is planning a PS4/One release. They dont halfa$$ stuff though, so it might just take a little while. I'm not going to wait and I dont most will either.

Both Xbox One and PS4 games will have the ability to use a tablet for certain gameplay elements. In some cases it's something like being able to customize stuff from your tablet without being in the game, or checking stats. Some stuff will have a map of the game you can display on the tablet, some will have some kind of actual gameplay that can be done with the tablet (like another player using a drone with a tablet). However, none are offering actual gameplay through the tablet, just addons to the real gameplay. The Vita will allow you to stream games from your PS4 to the Vita and play them that way.

You can tell if it's prerendered or in-game, usually mid game cutscenes are in-game while Intro/Chapter Start/End/Ending are prerendered.

And if you look hard enough esp in bigger screen on 1080p, you can clearly see that most games Prerendered cutscenes are much more awful looking than in-game cutscenes, in terms of clarity & pixels. I doubt most of them are even 720p. I don't know why, maybe they are trying to compress HD movies to save space for the sake of Xbox360 & PC since they still sticking to DVDs and to hold so much HD movies would require awful lot of space.

These days most cutscenes are in-game and not a prerendered video. The consoles are so low-powered they can't render at 1080p, many games don't even render at 720p.

I guess you're not the type of player that would appreciate other fans work to bring new experience to the game, especially when it gets old.

For consoles you are stucked with the original missions, DLC missions you pay for & MP, with PC fans can make sometimes award winning mods, new stories and turn it to a totally different game. If only console games could be modded. And since Console games are priced the same as PC just felt for those having a decent PC it would be a better bang for buck purchase.

Counter-Strike is one of the famous example.

Whether PS4 or XboxOne can fair really depends on the Exclusive titles.

Right now it's Gran Turismo vs Forza, Killzone vs Halo, Uncharted vs Gears Of War, most companies like Konami, Square Enix & Capcom already aborted making their games exclusives since they figure they get more exposure & profit by making their games multi-platformed, while many exclusives on Xbox are owned by Microsoft, can't say the same for Sony.

Would PS4 PSN MP be free like PS3 or will they implement Xbox Live fees?

I really don't think I could care any less about if pcs are better. I don't care for PF gaming. I prefer consoles and for me they're better. So really all this pc talk is a waste of space. Folks are talking about the ps4 not a pc.

well i didn't say PC is superior and i purposely ignored comparing the graphics between them, just PC has more flexibility. at least for those GTA V fans, maybe in 5 years time you got bored of it and still waiting for GTA VI maybe it's a good chance to try it on PC since by then a normal laptop should be able to run it just to see what the mod scenes can offer, for those that don't, just enjoy your gaming.

And since many PC gamers aren't even familiar with game mods i just though i share some.

I know folks who used to spend alot on building PCs, switched to Consoles because it's more convenient, and couldn't care much about mods etc because there's just too many games to play they just move on finishing each game once on Easy, it's like watching a movie in 480p & 1080p, it really doesn't matter afterwards since your memory can't really remember the difference you just remember the scenes & the story. But for those that has lots of time & enjoy playing a game over & over, there's an option.

But then again Consoles are getting more & more like PC, which is not a good thing since people buy consoles for the sake of convenience. I find myself spending quite some time just to maintain my PS3. Firmware, individual Game updates, PSN store updates, PS Home updates, sorting game data, game saves, backups, freeing disk space...

Just hope that PS4 titles will finally have FOV that suits modern 16:9 & 16:10 TVs. Those tight FOV on FPS games really make it hard to play for long hours.

FOV setting is something the developer has to setup, it's not specific to the console.

So makes us wonder if the developers still using 4:3 CRT monitors while doing their programming or what?

Software is part of the console, are we only allowed to discuss PS4 itself only and not even about their software counterpart like their games?

So far only few games did the FOV right. And there's no way around it to increase the view. They should just come up with 3 settings for 4:3, 16:9 & 16:10, but people will be complaining about the unfairness for those using 4:3 can't see as wide as those using HD TV.

I believe not allowing the use of keyboard & mouse on shooters is also to make it fair for controller users. But why don't they limit the use of Arcade stick on fighters since it's an obvious advantage over controller users?
