Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Vita isn't doing so well:

Forbes on PlayStation Vita: 'Sony in Big Trouble'

While the Vita's only been out a few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if we are seeing the last generation of the portable dedicated gaming console.

Wow....that's scary. Looks like Nintendo's days of releasing multiple handhelds is over. IMO it's hard to justify the $$ of these things. I got a 3DS for my birthday otherwise I wouldn't have one, and the $250 is way too much for a handheld. They need to price it so there's a gap between the consoles and the handheld.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Got my PSVita Pre-Order box a few days ago, can't wait for this. I needed a decent handheld.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Have you seen iPhone games? I've played the Uncharted, Golf and Ridge Racer launch titles, and they're amazing for a handheld.

I played better versions of those games on PS3. I'll just wait until the eventual PS3 release of the Uncharted game.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Sucks to hear... I wanted a vita. Will they pull plug quick and not make games for it?

Same here, it seems to be a double-edged sword, i don't want to buy it unless i know they'll develop for it and if i don't buy it i'll be one of the ones that lead to it's early death by not supporting it.

Millions of awful mingames, they give your hands something to do while taking a crap, but aren't real games

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

ya never know it might do well in america or over this year in general. maybe after a price cut, thats when im gettin it

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

This whole thing is a mess. Sony is like the Philadelphia Eagles. They are so stuck in their ways that they can't even see when it's not cutting it anymore. The iPhone and Droids are killing the mobile platform. Why spend close to $400 (System, Memory Cards, Games) when you can download something for $1.99 to $7.99? This WILL be another Sony fail. It's ashame to because there are things I would like to play on it, yet I refuse to play their a la carte games. Of course some people on here will buy no doubt. But the overwhelming majority of consumers will not be purchasing this product.

Same can be said for Nintendo and the 3DS

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

I'll be passing. I can play bigger, better versions of the games that'll be worth playing on the Vita. I think that's the biggest problem with Sonys handhelds. They want to make a powerful handheld Playstation, but unless you're always on the road, there's not much use for that since there's usually a much better version of the game on the console. I'd rather just play my Playstation using a good controller on my big tv. the Vita seems to be an impressive piece of tech, but I can understand why sales are down and won't be surprised if it tanks in the US.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

I'll be getting one but not till a major price drop, and looking at the bit of info posted here, looks like I may not have to wait too long.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

I will wait for a good price drop. After hearing the troubled sales in Japan.

I will buy the new Ipad with higher res and bigger screen instead to keep me happy.
My boys seem to love the 3DS so that is for now our handheld

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

I"m sure Sony porting their PSP exclusives to the PS3 didn't help their cause either. Why bother buying the Vita exclusives when you can just wait for them to bring it to their big console? Metal Gear PeaceWalker and the God of War games are why I bought another PSP a year and half ago, but it felt like I got ***** in the face when they just release HD versions of them for the PS3.

Yeah, this too. Wanna play that new Uncharted game but don't wanna buy a Vita? No worries. Wait a while and it'll come to PS3.

The ipad is so cumbersome to carry around, though.

Nintendo/Sony pwned by Jobs/Apple

doh!

I'm not one of those Iphone/Ipad gamers, I want BF3 on an Xbox portable system

But Ninetendo/Sony are getting ***** over the coals from these mobile phones, no doubt about it.
