Millions of awful mingames, they give your hands something to do while taking a crap, but aren't real games

what are you talking about, there are tons of real games for ipad and iphone from big game studios as well as perfect ports of old classics nowdays.

face it portable console is dead. ps vita however slick the hardware is DOA especially with games costing $40-50 a pop, who are they kidding.

It's already selling pretty well, I think it's got a good chance once it gets released in the U.S. since it's got a good lineup of launch games, much better than the 3DS

Its not selling well thats why they have a price drop already in japan and as it being better than 3ds I think not 3ds just went over 4million in the us and still selling strong with really great games scheduled to come out still. The vita is not going to pass the 3ds nintendo owns sony in the handheld market. As nice as the hardware is on the vita its just to expensive and is already heading in the same path as psp. I bought a psp late in the game and it only had a couple of good games thats what killed that system. The launch lineup is nice for the vita but people just are not buying the system.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

The 3g version was doomed to failure anyway. It's expensive and nobody wants it. I expect the regular Vita to do at least somewhat decently. Remember both the DS and 3DS were declared dead on arrival by the internet at large.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

The fact that nintendo has monster hunter on the 3ds in japan is also killing the vita if vita can get a monster hunter game too then ithink it would move vitas like crazy in japan the japs really love there monster hunter.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

If i ever got a vita it would be a limited edition one im glad I waited on my 3ds and gotthat limited edition zelda bundle and now they have an awsome metal gear solid 3ds coming out so that will sell even more 3ds. I can see a limited edition god of war vita. I cant wait for twisted metal on ps3 that would be an awsome vita game too if they did one.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

They've gotten Monster Hunter on PSP before--never got why anyone likes that game though.

I never understood the Monster Hunter thing either. It's like you see all the cool kids playing Pokemon and you ask your grandma for Pokemon but she gets you Monster Hunter. Then all the kids laugh at you.

Monster Hunter is the poor kids Pokemon.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Monster hunter is unique in its on way inever played one but from what I gather you team up wit ha bunch of friends to kill giant monsters and it has like rpg elements the 3ds one looks amazing but its only a japan exclusive right now.

With controls that either don't work well or get too frustrating to use for any long length of time, the only "console-type" games that i've played that are any good is GTA3, and that gets frustrating with the on screen controls to play for more than 10-15 mins.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Yeah I find most games on mobile devices such as android phones and the iPad to be crap. There are "fun" games to pass time while you wait for your movie to start but nothing comparable to a console or major handheld.

I guess that depends on the user. I know a hell of a lot more people that would rather play on their mobile device versus carrying around a handheld system in addition to their phone, iPad, Droid, ect..

It is all (as discussed before) and issue of price. Most people are not going to pay $400 to $450 dollars when they can pay $.99 to $6.99 games. Price comes into play also as discussed before since handhelds seem to be popular in the states mostly amongst children. These kids can't buy their own system. Mommy and Daddy is much more likely to shell out money for a 3DS versus the Vita.

This is also my issue with handhelds. IMO they are meant to pass the time. A function that can be accomplished simply by pulling out your phone and playing paper toss. :rotfl

Gaming to me is so much bigger. I don't want to play Drakes in the airport. I want to play Drakes on my 55 inch screen with my full surround sound pumping out bullets.
