Do you know how rare school shootings actually are? Maybe in south central LA high school kids have a lot of guns but not in the rest of the country.

Doesn't matter how rare they should never happened. Having been through a school lockdown cause someone got in to my school it's a bit nerve racking.

My school went through a BS "lockdown" after Columbine too. A school shooting happened in my state in the mid 90s. But *shock* all the laws were already in place to stop those shootings. Those were all gun free zones.

Newsflash. Sarcasm doesn't translate into writing very easily at all.
No school lockdown is ever "bs". Not when you have lives at risk. Thing is while there are laws in place the NRA and the gun lobbyists have managed to help create so many loopholes it's not even funny. Not to mention access to shot like assault weapons, magazines like I mentioned before, cop killer bullets, etc. I just find it sad how much sone folks cling to their guns. I know way to many folks who would choose their guns over say health care or the well being of others. Just sad.

Mine definitely was BS. Trust me. I could have sneaked a gun into that school so easily if I wanted to.
I know there are gun nuts out there, I hope you haven't confused me for one of them. I would pick universal healthcare over guns even though I am technically against government spending.

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."
He might have been quoting too, I haven't looked it up. But it definitely reeks of American government. I don't know how many times we have to learn this lesson: If we the people, us citizens, give the government one of our freedoms in a time of fear and terror, we will NEVER get it back (The Patriot Act, anyone?). That's why so many people cling to their guns. That's why the NRA says "From my cold dead hands."

Truth. You can't stop crazy people from doing crazy things. If they didn't have guns, maybe they would have done it with a homemade bomb. Who knows? No matter how many laws you pass, insane people will always find a way to do insane things.

What are these loopholes that you are mentioning? And these "bad" assault weapons you keep bringing up are responsible for less homicides then beatings, stabbings, and blunt force trauma. So do you think fists, baseball bats, and kitchen knives should be banned? Or maybe they should just make murder illegal. Oh wait, it already is.

No actually I gave you an atta girl a page or two ago. As far as health care goes, I would love it if eveyone had free healthcare. The problem is though is it's not free. And the money has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is the taxpayer.I'm dead to hoodonit because I support universal healthcare.
I'll be honest and say I would much rather pay for a working class person's healthcare who simply don't make enough to afford it, than the ones who are getting free healthcare now, and you know who they are.
