Just because it's what he loves doesn't necessarily mean he should carry on doing it if he's not even that good at it anymore, certainly not getting paid for it and this goes for anyone

His unlikeable character only adds to the reason as to why he shouldn't do it anymore. There are lots of people who are on the same level as him who are more likeable and for the reason alone they should be the ones doing it not him. That's how it works

Maybe middle aged was the wrong phase. He's a grown *** man for christ sake is that more fitting? It would be irrelevant if he was a middle aged man. He's an adult is my point - who's spitting his dummy out on camera to his 'fans' about people dissing him on youtube and making video's of him. Big deal

If you know why people hate him then you must surely know why he should stop. Do you honestly say that that's the way you think that kind of business should be done?

Theres a difference between having a soft spot and just not being a hater.

Why should he move on? Hes doing what he loves to do. It may not show cause he's a$$hat, but I'm certain it's true. This perception that he needs to get a "real job" is funny to me. I doubt people would be saying that if he was more likable and popular. I have a bunch of people i watch who do YouTube videos for a living and no ones saying that to them.

I believe he's 29 or 30. That close to middle age now? Man, I'm getting old fast.

I DO know why people hate him.

It's obviously a "job" that he can't handle, because of how he has been conducting himself. The thing about DSP that sets him apart from others, is that he leeches off of YouTube views, and then proceeds to ridicule his own subscribers who provide him a bread-and-butter income. And you still don't understand why people would find a problem with that?

I'm certainly not invested in this guy, but others who have known him for quite some time have a right to be angry - especially if they've been helping to fund his lavish lifestyle only to get cursed out by that keyboard warrior. Which goes back to my point about how he has been bleeding subscribers for some time now.

The guy is just an ingrate who's completely full of himself. He's practically infamous on the Internet because of MGS runs, and lot of MGS fans who have just heard about him recently are learning about how much of a douche bag he really is. For my years of following gaming channels on YouTube, I've never seen anything like it.

He seems to be on a downward spiral now, though. Personally, I don't understand what people really saw in DSP to subscribe to him in the first place. But, I do sympathize them.

Fixed for clarity.

My point through in all of this is that it doesn't matter if most people don't like him. If his fans exist (and they do) he has a right to keep doing what he's doing. I don't see what's so hard to understand about that. Don't like him, don't watch. If enough people get sick of him, he'll go away. Why waste your own energy hating on somebody like this? I'm not trying to stop you guys or anyone else from hating and I'm not crazy enough to think I could change anyone's mind. I've only posed a question of "is it worth all that hate?" You guys have answered "yes". fair enough.

I'm of the opinion that being a pr1ck isn't a crime and a mature person should be able to find something better to do than waste a moments time trying to negatively impact a persons life just because hes a douche and you don't like him. This conversation started when it was brought up that people were actively trying to take money out of this guys pocket for being a tool. If his fans still choose to support him by staying on his channel and giving him views, what's the big deal? Life will go on.

Why do you keep bringing up the "hate" that people have for him, but fail to realize that much of it was DSP's own fault for acting the way that he does? Like I said before, people have a natural tendency to react negatively to someone who point-black insults them. Can you really blame them for being human?

That's not to say that all of this isn't already affecting him. I do agree with that the best thing to do, is to not watch his videos. If you don't want to give him money and if he upsets you, just don't go to his channel. That's good advice, and I think anyone who really doesn't like him should follow it.

No more than I can blame Phil for being human. The point is that people think that hating a guy is enough reason to go after him and that's been the point I've disagreed with all this time. I don't like Whiteboy7thstreet show, but I'm not going to waste any time trying to get him off the YouTube. He has a right to be there whether I like him or not..and he's a guy I can't stand to listen to. I'm amazed by the number of subs he has. But...i choose not to listen to him and the problem is solved.

The double-standard is understandable. All things considered, DSP is a popular YouTube personality, who should realize that fame comes with its hardships, and he really brought all of it on himself by diving into the mud with everyone else. Someone who has been around on YouTube for as long as he has should know better.

People will be people, and they'll cry for blood, seeking retribution when they feel that they've been wronged in any sort of way - and even more so, when it involves someone popular. Perhaps it is an overreaction, but that's just way the world is. DSP could have prevented things from escalating if he knew how to control his mouth. But, seeing the type of person that he is, I don't think he's capable of doing that.

Agreed. He most certainly should know better, but he's proven over time that he's no more capable of holding back on his feelings than the people he strikes out against.

Your second paragraph sums it up nicely. It's a slow train wreck. Horrible to watch, but difficult to turn away from. He probably hasn't and never will learn a lesson here. He's the type who is incapable of seeing wrong in himself. If he goes down, I'm sure he will always blame others for it. Oh well. At least we got this hella long conversation out of it. Good game, buddy.:hi5:

Yeah, that's pretty much what I think, too. Good conversion, by the way. It's nice to have debates where people aren't constantly going after each other's throats :lol. Unfortunately, you don't really see a lot of that on this forum.

Sadly true. Especially when you consider this is a collectibles and all things nerdy forum where everyone should be sharing their common interests and having a good time.

Found some more stuff about DSP. This guys is just awful :lol.

He insulted the person who designed his website for free and also built him a desktop. The "good stuff" starts at 10:18 in the video.
I'd be lying if I said that I didn't find this ongoing drama with DSP highly entertaining :rotfl.

this pretty much sums up why he's a douche

In 2012, DSP was involved in numerous feuds with the popular YouTube gaming personality Toby Turner (Tobuscus Games). The rivalry began when Phil posted a video stating that he was outraged when ads for college football video game NCAA Football 13 which featured Turner appeared on the side of DSP’s videos. Throughout 2012, Phil has often bashed gamers such as Turner, PewDewPie, and IJustine and called them “phony YouTube gaming personalities.” This incident was placed at #2 on DSP’s Worst Gaming Trends of 2012. On March 2nd, 2013, DSP came in fourth place for Worst YouTube Video Game Personality in the 2012 Vidya Gaem Awards and lost to Tobuscus (3rd), IJustine (2nd), and PewDiePie (1st).

He later got into an intense feud on Twitter with freelance game reviewer Mitch Dyer. In October 2012, Phil defended Resident Evil 6 after critics bashed the game. To show his defiance to the mainstream gaming media, Phil gave Resident Evil 6 a 9/10 and placed it at #4 on the top 10 games of 2012.

Hehe, yeah I can understand why it's interesting to watch. There's no denying what a douche he is.
