I won't leave SS, just will buy smaller ES pieces. Don't get me wrong, they do amazing work and that's why I buy from them. But at that large ES quantity I will concentrate on more unique pieces even though I'm a big DC fan. I just hope next year it won't be "order the Exclusve, 5000 ES." Anyway, stepping off my soap box now... I've vented. I feel better. :rotfl Goodnight all!

Nothing wrong with that, I don't get why everyone's railing on you. Personally I'd rather collect something that's a little more unique. One of the best things about these online forums is you get to see other people's unique collections, if all these companies start producing large ES's everyone's collection begins to look the same. I'm mainly into vintage movie posters and it seems like everyone collects Bond posters, they re-released those posters so many times over the years the draw to be another lemming jumping off the mountain doesn't appeal to me, visually I like them but I'd rather own something I like that's not flooding the market, gives you a little more pleasure in your collection when you know you've got some different stuff. A major appeal of collecting for lot of people is having something that is rare and unique so you're really not alone.

I don't mind them making more, that means a greater profit for them, and more money to put into Quality control. We all know this has been an issue of late, i'd rather see them make enough off a piece to ensure the quality is there, than make too few and not have the money to fix it if it's messed up.

that being said, I expect perfection out of Ivy when she arrives.

I don't get noobs complaining about high exclusive numbers. They're high because you all found out about Sideshow and told them how bad you want to give them your money (especially those of you who paid retarded money in the secondary market).

LMAO, especially when new people come in talking about the good old days when ES was lower. HAHA, the good old days, what? Three months ago when you started collecting Sideshow :rotfl

Thanks for that. I agree, that's why I got into this hobby: to collect unique pieces that not everyone can have. I've calmed down over the ES though. If people want to collect an item that many thousands of people will already own, no big deal to me. That's why I cherish my old Universal Monster PFs and some of my earlier Marvel pieces. SS may remake those items one day, but I will always have the low ES originals. I still will get my Batman and Superman Ex because they're must-have pieces to me. As for the rest of DC, I will pass and gladly let all the others collectors that aren't bothered by a high ES enjoy them. Thanks for the support! :wave

There are 6 billion people in the world. 2000 is rare. It'll be even more rare when we hit 7 billion.

People talk about Doom PF Ex. numbers like that should be the gold standard. I wonder if they knew how many people were members here then. I believe there are over 15,000 Freaks now (which may well be only a fraction of Sideshow's customer base; might just be that more customers are members, but that's still a lot of people).

I really like the Frankenstein and Bride PFs, they are pretty awesome!

:exactly: Oh.... you said it! I FINALLY landed a Bride to go with the Monster recently and those two together are grail territory. I had all the Uni PFs except for her and when I finally got her and put the two of them together, they look AMAZING. I would never give those two up. SS has done such great work over the years. Of course, high ES or not, I'm pretty sure I'll dig my Batman Ex when he comes too. :)

I don't own them, but love all the pics I've seen. Do they have them in the color and black and white versions?

Yeah they're awesome. I have the color-version. They came in Silver Screen Edition and they only made 100 of them in that type. I actually prefer the color version though. Classic pieces. Try to find them if you can one day... SS did outstanding work on the quality and paint. Two of my favorites.

Well, to be fair, I don't think most of the worlds population could afford to even care about a statue of a comic book character they probably have never heard of. But, I wouldn't compare the rarity of something to the number of people in world, only to the number of people who want the same thing. The market will decide what the ultimate value of any of these are to collectors and to suppliers. Happens in any collector hobby and sometimes the entire floor falls out of them anyway.

Didn't some repainted variants just go for a ton on ebay though?
