For you guys I sure hope so! I got on the WL this year, so really, the chances of a conversion are pretty much nil. the regular would have to do, IF she does turn out good. In my opinion, the grading seems correlated with the ES. Spider Woman low ES, poor QC. Ivy high ES, probably high QC? Or is this just spurious?

in a perfect world...

So for a difference of $25 between SW and Ivy the guys who ordered SW get a much lower grade statue, and have to deal with QC issues that have litterally sent almost EVERY statue back to SSC. See that doesn't make a lick of sense.

That is sad though because shouldn't they ALL be te highest quality given how much we pay for them???

I definitely agree with this, completely. However, after talking with CS Moore last year and finding out about this grading scale, it all made sense to me. Now, it's been officially confirmed if geez really did know someone that actually works at one of these factories.

The thing is, I think Joker and Rogue were also done at the same factory, so you can see a factory who screws one piece up can make another amazing.

so I had a chance to visit some relatives in China last week, and one of them actually worked as a floor supervisor for one of the factories producing Sideshow collectibles! I was thinking no way, but he offered to give a tour on one of the work days! And on that, I actually saw unpainted models of Poison Ivy! What the what! talked about a lot of things, and brought up the issue of QC and the Spider Woman gaffe, and actually found out something worrying. The factory he worked at (the same one where I saw Ivy) was actually the same one that produced the Spider Woman piece! Of course I begged him to make sure things went smooth for Ivy, but he said he couldn't guarantee it, since Sideshow called the shots on the grading...

I don't believe it unless you took pictures.

why would he make that up?

That was what I was thinking... Guys are calling him a lied for NO apparent reason

I am not trying to be mean or call someone out but I definitely don't believe it or have any faith in that statement unless there was further proof.

I think a lot of people make up a lot of stuff on here for any number of reasons.

My sister's boyfriend's brother's wife works for Sideshow and she said Poison Ivy is being cancelled. Sorry folks.

I believe Geez is telling the truth because I don't see any strong reasons why he would lie about it unless its a tricky thing to get people off the EX line so he can slip in.

I also have some relatives in China that overwatches workers in a toy factory. He never gave me a tour at the time I visited last year because he could get in trouble. Visitors are only allowed from the permission from those at the top and cameras are a big NO! It sucks to hear that they pull most of these workers from poverty stricken areas and force them to work the way they want them to or get fired.

Although a toy factory is a lot different than a factory creating "high quality" statues, the same problem can still exist for the workers. Sideshow is probably putting pressure on the factory even with delays that they need it at this time or that time. All these painters got to stay behind the 7-8 hour work day and go full on 12 hours to get it done. Just imagine all the fatigue over time leading to sub par job compared to a perfect prototype. Got to push it out and Sideshow will just give it a pass as its "good enough" and we will just buy it anyways.

I'll keep myself on the EX wait list for now, but right now Sideshow is losing me on this Ivy. I think that prototype was like a curse to everyone wanting Ivy. It looks so good that we all fell for it! I wonder if the prototype looked like the one in the 2013 fair with straightened eye would we still accept it? I would have passed on it!

I guess I am way more laid back, I don't mind the new shots that are going around. I knew from the beginning some of that paint work on the prototype was never going to make it to production, it never does.

None of the stuff geez says is hard to believe. That being said no one should make the decision of canceling based on that info. In ANY business using chinese factories, these issues exist...nothing new at all. I never expect a mass produced item to perfectly match a one off proto. If it comes close with no obvious defects, I'm happy. These statues aren't cheap but if they didn't exist imagine how much more a statue would cost if u could only get custom built ones.
