Thanks for the detailed review. From your photos, I agree that it's an excellent sculpture and the terrible paint job of the vines on her legs blemish such alluring statue.

Although, I do prefer the eyes of the prototype, it looks more seductive. I think they tone down the eyeliner at the lower lid and the eye shadow at the upper lid which do make a difference at the overall look.

That said, I like this statue a lot. Can't wait till mine arrives. Until then, I'll be contented with the pictures online.

It's fantastic overall. I don't mean to nit pick but the paint on the leg vines are a little sloppy. Hopefully not noticeable at normal viewing

A good example of how a full sculpt in some cases can provide a statue with detailed intricacies that a mixed media piece may not. In the case of Ivy I have no doubt that full sculpt was the way to go.

Most of the time I'd side that mixed trumps sculpt but not here.

It seems in some of those images the paint is sloppy on the hair leading down to her chest. It's like the paint that is for her skin got painted onto some sections of her hair.

Hopefully mine doesn't turn out that way (especially being in Australia).

yes. The open mouth head is the only one that is additional to the exclusives. Both editions have the other three (two close buds, one smirking bud)

Does it really? I don't remember seeing a picture of a smirking one for the regular :/.

I don't care about the paint app on the vines, etc. The only thing that bothers me is the gap between her inner thighs. The legs / thighs look skinny than full. An SDCC 2012 pic.

Are you sure about that? I've now read in a few places that the regular includes three, and the open mouth one is included for the EX.

Only asking again because I've seen multiple conflicting reports on what is included with each version.

well **** me rigid if that's true. that'll be a great bonus, and I reckon some EX owners might be slightly miffed at the lowered exclusivity of their pieces. what I know is that 2 for reg and 4 for EX is what was initially announced. the ole SS "switcheroo" might've worked in my favor this time, that is, if the reg does come with 3 plant heads. can't wait for my LCS to call for me to collect my piece

Edit: Saw built2shred's pics in statueforum. he bought a regular and there are 3 heads, yup. Never had the impression all along that the third smirking head was included for the regular. fantastic!

Who cares what the Sideshow pictures show, there seems to be 3 heads from what everyone is saying who has already received it. I'm honestly quite glad since I really don't like the idea of exclusive items.

on a related note, I'm glad I bought the regular, but isn't that false advertising on SS's part? EX buyers were expecting regular owners to get 2 heads only?

EX owners get all of the above, regular owners get the two below, plus the left one on top (which I thought was an EX piece too...)
In none of the photos on the product page for the regular was there the grinning head.

I am happy for everyone that bought a regular but I do have to admit that this is a bad decision on the part of Sideshow.

I think it's great they are giving something extra, but in doing so they've taken something away from my direct EX purchase which is costing me well more than I'd be paying a local retailer for a reg.

Congrats to reg buyers. This is a solid bonus for you.

For SS, this isn't the way to encourage us to buy direct.
