What would other members think of a warpaint exclusive? A few folks (myself included) on Statue Forum would buy it on the basis that a lot of PCS' exclusives tend to be fun repaints that aren't necessarily meant to be totally accurate to the scene. Plus it would justify the marble base more.

I do like the idea but having the Sideshow PF on my shelf for so many years probably means I don't find it necessary.

I think over time the inaccuracies would drive me nuts as well :D
The hair I could probably deal with but the lack of furry barbarian jocks would seem weird!

Pretty much what I thought...minus the having SS's on my shelf. :(

Finally saw this movie today. Had seen it once as a kid but didn't really remember it much, so it was like watching for the first time.

Didn't really think much of it to be honest. Not sure if it was the age of it, or maybe it's just not my kind of movie. It was OK, but not sure I wanna buy an expensive 1/3 scale statue from it, even if it is Arnold.

Wow really? I think it holds up extraordinarily well.

Yeah its probably not the age, maybe it's just not my kind of movie, as there are movies older than this that I think are awesome (Alien Springs to mind). Maybe some movies just age better than others. I remember watching '89 Batman last year after having not seen it since the 90's and I thought it was terrible and had aged badly, yet I thought it was awesome as a kid lol.

The reason I love it so much is its unusual story structure.
The riddle of steel opens the movie but gets solved halfway through by the bad guy just telling him the answer lol
The ending doesn't feature an epic battle with Thusla Doom, just a conversation and then Arnie decapitating him!
And epic set pieces like the wheel of pain, the gladiator put, the Snake tower etc....

Lol yeah it had its moments for sure, wouldn't say it's a bad film, just not sure I want to get such an expensive statue from it, even if it is really well done.

Statue prices have reached insane levels for us Aussies, so I'm very picky with what I buy now. It's gotta be a character or movie I really love for me to shell out the cash. Haven't decided if I'll buy it yet. Part of me still wants it as its Arnold and I'm a massive Arnold fan. Really wish someone would do a 1/3 statue of Arnie from Terminator 1 or 2 with a solid likeness like this one. Now that I would buy in a heart beat.

Prime 1 has Terminator license so maybe they'll make that. I know they are making an endo.

Yeah I know, but haven't seen anything from them to suggest that they're making one. All I've seen is a small teaser of a CGI file for an endo. Who knows. Maybe when they get over making Batman statues they might make one.

Its a shame that there isn't any decent Arnold Terminator statues out there. The best we've gotten is Sideshow's T1 premium format, which is good but the likeness isn't that great.

Sideshow T1 is really good. The likeness captures the feeling of that scene so well, menacing, not like Hot Toys baby face version! And as my GF points out...that BUTT! Best rear end on a statue ever (male category )lol.

Conan is my all time favorite film, nostalgia has a lot to do with it but...

The musical score Bsail is my fav...better than Williams Star Was IMHO.
The sets....Frazetta comes to life. Ron Cob is a genious.
The dialogue, or lack of Arnold doesn't speak until 20 minutes in! Less is more in this aspect.
Makos narration.epic.
The swords! The sole reason I got fascinated by swords and now own 10.
The directing, movies today are all zip pow zap bam camera move pan zoom camera move swipe zip zoom cut cut zip repeat. This film sits on a well framed shot and let's a rider on a horse travel from one edge of the frame to the other giving the viewer time to soak it all in, listen to the music and think about what they are seeing.
it's not a perfect film but I love it.

I watched the movie a few years ago and was also somewhat disappointed. However, it's showing at a nearby art school later this month and I'm going to check it out then:

Agreed on insane statue prices ... and 1/3 has the extra issue of gigantic boxes taking up so much space :D

Seeing this movie at the right age affects it's enjoyment. As a kid it can be fun. As a young adult looking to embark on an journey in life it is good too.
It's also a great movie to watch in the winter with snow on the ground. Really pulls you into the setting and what life would have been like under those circumstances.

It's a movie where a lot has to happen in your head to enjoy it. It is not just a set of attempts to elicit preprogrammed emotions like most movies are now.
If your in a mood to engage your imagination then it is very enjoyable.
