Sale only takes 20% off the original retail price for figures, not the (in almost all cases) lowered listed prices. So, not exactly a great discount on anything I can see.

There are plenty of items where you're better off. But you're right for a few items already discounted it may have been cheaper to use pennies % discount option when not on 'sale'.

Note: I primarily buy statues.

It really depends on which items. Some of their items are listed for more than retail in which case the discount will be minor but it's still a slightly better deal. I ordered a Hot Toys Deathtrooper deluxe for $233 shipped, would've cost me $250 with a $20 coupon applied (since shipping is $20+ to the east coast) and with about $12.50 rewards return (probably less with the discount applied), its still just slightly more by a few $$, so it's not a huge difference but I'd rather pay less and not worry about rewards for later, plus I'm getting pennies for future purchases so there is some form of "reward points" towards popcultcha.

TFA Han seems like a great deal for anyone that waited.

I wish I waited on the Han & Chewie pack. It came back in stock on Alter Ego for $10-$15 less than Sideshow retail and I just jumped on it. Now I'm not even sure if I wanna keep it or not... might wanna stick to the OT era characters and maybe just have the new characters from TFA and on.

If the shipping wasn't so high I might go for the Blitzway Fight Club 2-pack. Robocop with chair is a good deal, as well.

I noticed shipping rates were higher as well. That's what's keeping me from ordering this time around. I've ordered a good amount of items before where shipping was around $50-60, for the lot. Now it's closer to around $100. And none of them are diecast either, or heavy combo sets. :(

Anyone know why i can't add pennies to my orders? They wont even pop up in viewcart i actually get to the checkout screen choose paypal and still havent had a chance to spend pennies. Also it says earned pennies is 0 when i am in the checkout process.

Pennies can't be used during the duration of the sale, it's been like that for the last couple of years. And it's in their terms and conditions for the sale; as such if you have any preorder items you'll like to buy using your pennies you'll have to wait until the sale is over on Tuesday.

I've already made a couple of purchases and I did receive pennies.

I thought it was in stock items only, no pre-orders allowed? Did they change that stipulation?

Preorders have never been 'allowed' to receive sale prices barring glitches etc as per their terms and conditions.

However as stated pennies are usually completely switched off during the sales, as no double dipping is allowed and unless they've improved their website (finally), you'll have to wait until Tuesday to place orders for any preorders if you want to use pennies etc.

But pre order items are not on the 20% sale so why can't i use pennies on the pre order items? Is that just how it is? There is no double dipping because the pre order items are at full price.

I know, but unless they've upgraded their website, they usually just deactivate the pennies option during sales. As they have had a lot of issues with running the pennies during sales.

Whenever they try to enact something new on their website, be it sales etc, it's usually to their benefit not to. 'Glitch gate' is an example of that. Though I don't think you were around for that. But many collectors here did, especially from the US as the glitch that allowed double 20% (i.e. 36% off) discounts, plus pennies? and on preorders occurred during their daylight hours. It was like Christmas, New Years and every other holiday rolled into one. Why do you think this specific thread (on an Australian retailer) was created in the first place!

Oh wow i never knew that they must have lost a lot of money during that time good to see they are still going strong. I understand the process thanks mate.

And to their credit, they fulfilled all orders. We all thought we'd be facing cancellations after the holiday weekend but they came through. Really great store and great people to deal with.

$224 for old man han is a great deal . I would have snapped up the exclusives like subzero and blue steel if I didn't already have them .

I just tried to get something else and realized they don't even take Discover.... :lol :banghead I guess I need a new "no foreign transaction fee" card. :slap
