Lion-o was on clearance for a year

and you ain't laughing at that are ya?!

on Clearance for a year?? jesus! I have no idea but are you sure as there are only few on ebay.

I would argue as it's been proved more or less that MOTU is bigger than Thundercats by quite a bit.
MOTU had no entertainment up until recently and the figures sold like hot cakes.

And with a movie I say thinks are looking good for the brand but I do think it's a fair question to wonder if folks will buy big expensive statue beyond He-Man, Skeletor. I think Beastman might as it's so cool.
The others would need to be pretty darn cool if they hope to sell.

I am sure he is right about Lion-O. He took a long time to sell through and PCS only got him and Mumm-Ra before that license tanked. They are expensive on ebay now, but they were hanging around Sideshow's website for a long time and were discounted and on the gift card (ie - slow seller) list. I hope MOTU fares better, but I know there are a lot of fans who have only ever bought action figures and will be hard pressed to shell out this kind of scratch for a 1/4 scale statue.

At this pace I think we won't see He-Man until mid 2014 at the earliest. I know Jerry stated he wanted to release 3-4 statues a year in this line, but we all know how that works out...

:lol it really was, it retail for 450.00 shipped and sold for around 300.00 and as low as 250.00 on this forum. Same as mumm ra. I still hope we get a she ra and sorceress maybe battle cat before this line dies.

Again with the laughter face! Weird!

'Before the line dies'?

Lads, just because a toyline dies it doesn't mean the franchise dies.

Do you think they will stop making Thundercats t-shirts just because the toys died off? no.

So why on earth would MOTU merchandise stop because the toyline dies?

I meant just the statues not the merchandise.

sorry...I have little faith

I hope not but I'm thinking the same. Selling high price motu statues is not easy. There's only a small market for them. My 2 cents

But again chaps, the statues have nothing to do with the status of the toyline! These are Filmation statues not Classics statues.

But I do accept the point that these may be a tough sell especially on characters that are not the main two.

I think they might do better than you think.

Now, I think THERE IS a ThunderCats fanbase, but the way this line was approached was DOA...
Now with MOTU, even though the fanbase might be bigger, they are not handling it well IMO...
When you have a 1/4 scale statue of Filmation He-Man, next to a 1/1 bust of "over-realistic" Skeletor, well, that's exactly what happened with TC...
Roider Lion-O, Realistic mini-Mumm-Ra, and Cartoon accurate Tygra... even at the same scale, they just looked like they didn't belong with each other...

Thundercats was a proper and utter calamety tough to be fair!

I guess the thinking is that if characters like Thor and Superman can have different styles of things statues and busts, MOTU can enjoy the same.

All the NECA MOTU large statues did rather well as far as I can remember.

I am not saying it can or it can't, I am hoping that these statues can but we shall see. I do think the jury is out basically.

Well I am just happy they are getting made! I will buy them all! So that's one! :)

Make that two of us. I plan on picking up most of the characters, especially if Beastman looks like that that concept art. I just hope PCS doesn't make the characters look too much like they did in the Filmation cartoon. I would like them to look a little more realistic.

That's just PCS general model though. They are almost as bad as ThreeA when it comes to selling stuff. They flood the fans with preorders and then take ____ing forever to actually release stuff, constantly delaying everything or going ages without any updates. Even when people ask about projects in the threads, the head of the company will dodge the questions or just respond with useless "in time" responses. We still haven't gotten Sagat or Scorpion...

Why have Beastman and Skeletor and Evil Lynn shown before He-Man is even up for preorder? :dunno

Hard Hero did a statue line that was spot-on for the animated Thundercats from what I remember. They didn't get to complete the team and most of them were available on clearance. I just don't think there's a large enough fan base to support collectibles based on the franchise. Hopefully MOTU fares better.

Meh! What do I care if the line collapses as everyone is predicting...

I've got my He-Man display so I'm happy!!
