Bones looks good to me! There are probably some adjustments that can be made, but the likeness is very good.
Hey Chris
I have sent you several emails and no response from you. I have sent it to [email protected]. Is there any other mail we can use to get in touch with you?
Chris, Bones is amazing!!!!!!! Seriously, at first glance, I have NO suggestions. I'll look more in detail, but right off the bat, you nailed it!!!!
I'm even more excited about this because I just got back from Star Trek and it was outstanding!!

Thanks! Let me know if you can find something to change.
I took all Kirk comments under consideration. Thanks to everyone who participated, there were some very good points. It's already helped me improve him!
Spock will be coming soon for your consideration and comment.
So, I was thinking about a special head..... Jeffery Hunter as Capt. Christopher Pike from the original pilot, "The Cage". Does that sound interesting to anyone? I thought if I do him I could do a special Cage variation on Spock.
If people are interested, I can try to get the uniforms.
Thank you, my friend!
How about this one? Dr. McCoy for ya!
I guess I didn't explain well enough when I posted the first Kirk photos that these are WIP photos. Apparently, that lead some folks to think that I was presenting a finished product.
FYI, I usually don't just present something and say "Take it or leave it". Rather, I present a first draft and ask for input. I want you to be involved!
I thought it obvious from the level of finish that it would be taken for granted that the head was not a finished sculpture. I forget sometimes that my rough quality is often equivalent to other sculptor's finished quality. Any of you who have one of my castings will be able to see this difference.
Being a professional sculptor with 20 years in the business, my standards tend to be higher than what many are used to. That's why folks like my work and hopefully makes it worth the wait!
So, these photos of McCoy are not finished product, it is a WIP. Please take a look and tell me what you see. Help me to see them through your eyes so I can improve the sculpt.
I have been told that some other set of heads has been declared by some people as the ultimate and "can't be out done" or some such. Well, I make it a rule not to comment on other sculptor's work. I don't try to be in competition with any particular individual. I'm only in competition with myself, always trying to improve, never being satisfied.
My goal is simply to make the best heads available anywhere at any price. Perhaps I will achieve this, perhaps not. You will be the judge. But with your help I sure am going to give it a try!
Thanks for taking a look. I await your constructive comments.
McCoy is looking great!
Thanks for the update.
I second the opinion that he should be a bit more slender. My image of Bones is of being, well, bony... but seriously, I do have him in mind slightly thinner.
Also, I feel the upper lip, or rather the space from nose to mouth looks a bit odd. Maybe too long?
Hope this helps.
I think it would be helpful to have some actual pictures of Deforest Kelley to compare:
It seems to me that he actually did have a long space between the mouth and nose. The front view seems pretty much perfect to me. But the chin and mouth on the profile shot look a little off somehow.
