Some of you may be familiar with Sterling E-11 Stormtrooper blaster replica with genuine M38 (and M40) tank scope, real Eagle Hengstler counter, accurate cylinders and T-tracks. I just upgraded the cylinders with a real trio of capacitors not, just copies. I also added an metallic Imperial logo on the base. I know I worked hard to make this blaster as accurate as possible, and I'm glad how it turned out.

In the end the Stormtrooper blaster remains my top favorite collectible. This piece simply screams "Star Wars" and with all its moving parts is like a real blaster. Everyone seeing my collection in person, after I tell them what it is, want to see it closely and even hold it - though holding it is a very hard to give privilege. ;)

The MR looks boring compared to this.

Thanks Chris. But don't worry about Nash, if I know a thing for certain, is that there are a couple members like Nash or Bastila on this forum who stalk me. They make laugh a lot and also make me feel important :D

I own a complete MR Stormtrooper blaster, and used to own a loose MR Stormie blaster (sold a year ago) and a disassembled MR blaster (also sold). I would trade my complete MR Stormtrooper blaster for any EU deact. Sterling, even unconverted, in an instant. There is simply no comparison in holding the Sterling and the MR blaster. MR is a cool but static idealized prop, made of metal tubing, the Sterling is the real deal as I said maybe even participated in a war before being demilled. And being deactivated in UK, is great since it was never cut in pieces like in US deactivation process.

The MR comes with a plaque (I have a couple customs ones for my Sterling blaster as well :)) - my MR comes with 2 different numbered original plaques. The MR comes with a COA (I have the Sterling deact. certificate which is so cool on its own), and a mirror stand - though I totally prefer the solid metal stand I have for the Sterling.

Just look on RPF, there is a guy selling a Stormtrooper blaster with damaged mirror base, it simply cracked where the blaster is heavier. This would never happen with a metal stand, but happened quite a lot with the MR Stormtrooper blasters alas. The metal stand shows the world of real blasters by saying: this is not a kiddie toy, not a porcelain figurine, but a real dangerous weapon on an Imperial issued metal stand - Beware! :nono

HGC already made an Aliens looking stand for their M4A1 Pulse Rifle, and it is gorgeous. Mirror base for the Pulse Rifle? LOL The marines and Stormtroopers are not girl scouts, they are rough military personnel. They don't need mirrors, they need effective hardware. :lol That doesn't mean I don't like my MR Stormie blaster, I do, and I also like the SDS one or the ESB Stunt RS Pugman blaster. But none comes close to the Sterling, and anyone owning one will say the same.

I totally follow you. Once again, and I've said this before, it's wonderful to have collectors with this insight and knowledge. It's very inspirational!

It's crazy to think that the item might even have experienced actual combat.

When it comes to collecting and collectibles as such, it is very much about, in my opinion, being able to tell a story or two about a particular piece. What is it? What's special about it? Why do you like it? So on, and so forth.

That is what collecting should be about!

Still, we are all different in the way we collect.

Indeed. There was a cool discussion on FISD some time ago regarding the real converted weapons like Sterling (Stormtrooper E-11 blasters), Mausers (Han & Luke DL-44 blasters), MG-34 (DLT-19 rifle) etc. which could have been more than just SW blasters in their previous "lives". I always considered that I gave my Sterling a new life, its "sins" are forgiven, since it transformed into a piece that becomes part of something we all love: STAR WARS.

As for collecting weapons or props, I personally collect props, I do not care about collecting firing weapons. I know this was a fully functional weapon some time ago, and I do respect what it was, but if these hadn't been used in SW I wouldn't have cared to have it in my collection. Simple as that. I could also say that being a prop replica may have saved it from being melted as scrap metal. I guess I will never know if my gun killed/injured someone, and to be honest I really don't want to know. Thus I think that I gave this Sterling a better life in my hands (as a very prized prop) than it was really meant for (killing/hurting people).

That is awesome! :thud: It just doesn't get any more *real* than that right there. Very nicely presented as well.

All I can say jkno is that is very nice. Very cool blaster definitely an awesome piece.

Thanks a lot guys. :duff The blaster stand was made to fit an acrylic cover over it, exactly like a MR stand. But never got to make one, since the blaster is something i like to handle from time to time. Maybe that will be the next step some day. :)

Got my ROTJ bucket in today and I also lucked out a few weeks ago by being able to nab an MR "Artist Proof" ESB helmet, so I couldn't be any happier with these two.

That is awesome Verbal, really appreciate the Rotj lid side by side. Now you got me itchy for one. Rarely see these together, what Rotj lid is that?

Thanks, guys.

And it's an Asok Cold Cast of the FettPride MR helmet. Which s pretty cool as its basically the MR helmet that was fixed to be as accurate as possible so its lol to know the ROTJ literally started as an ESB one.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the MR helmet because I prefer the ESB paint job and I'm just a sucker for officially licensed merch, but I really can't stop looking at how much more awesome the ROTJ one is right now.
