I was seven-years-old the first time I saw PotA. It gave me nightmares and I've loved it ever since.

The first film I saw in theaters as a kid was the original Star Wars. The Apes films were before my time. When I was probably ten or eleven, I caught the first POTA movie on TV one Saturday and it was only about two minutes into it. I didn't even catch the title and had no idea what the film was called or what it was about. As the movie got going I was hooked. Everything that happened in it was a surprise to me. Later, I found out that there were more and hunted down the sequels on videotape. It's nice to finally have the full set on DVD!!

I'd love to get this set, but where does one put a fully-rendered Ape head and make it look classy? I know I'll end up putting sunglasses and a straw hat on him.

I really want this collection, but with my recent back surgery and school tuition I'm finding it really hard. I might even have to cancel my SW orders :monkey2 I'm with Tom, SW was my first ever feature film in a theater in 77' but I've always enjoyed the Ape Saga so much . I recall the animation series vaguely how is it? It's hard to think that the television series only went fourteen episodes, I wish it went longer than that.

Gee Stickman, what did you to to your back to have to get surgery? I hope you can recover quickly and more importantly fully, and that you dont have or develop any problems with pain.

well i just picked up the regular set tonight :monkey1 the only thing that i really would have wanted in the monkey head is the animated series and i cannot justify dropping around a $100 more just to get that. Besides there is no way my girlfriend would have let me display that thing in the living room with the other dvds!

I got mine from Play yesterday. No idea from the number. It's still in the box even.. no time yet to unpack .. I had no idea really there was SO much of the POA!

Thanks for the heads up Darth D. This must mean I will get mine soon. Ape me up.:monkey1

I used to work for IMAX 70mm and was injured on the job lifting some metal platters used to run the film off of. I had to get a fusion to my L5-S1 vertabrea :monkey2

I hope you get a fair settlement from them Stickman.

On a more pleasing note, my DvD set arrived from Amazon today. No:765. I guess that reflects the two week delay between yours and mine Darth Dyp. I had hoped it would coincide with the Easter break. This may spur me on to buy more PotA figures.

The Ape head is huge, 13 inches X 10 inches, and after only just unpacking it dominates my display area. It looks good, as far as I'm concerned, and I don't see anyone that has it complaining. The DvD's are nicely packed in a fold out ensemble with 7 discs per side. From the outside you wouldn't think it held so many.

After buying eight Sideshow PotA figures, I had been on the lookout for a box set of feature films. I am glad I wasn't able to find any, and that Fox released this edition. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. :monkey1

Sounds great, Creecher! Glad you like it! I didn't have the funds for the bust set and just got the five movie box, but it sounds like the fancy set is worth having.

I do think it was a little expensive Tom, but the bust is pretty good. It is a hard roto caste plastic, looking slightly to the left and facing down. It gives off a nice amount of serious blended with the menacing. Not as cheesy as the impression you get from the pics you may have seen.

It almost makes me want to get the soft rubber animatron ape head I saw in Kmart a week or two ago for $150. My flat would soon turn from looking like a toy shop to looking like a zoo. I have a lot of figures, but a bust this size sticks right out. I can only imagine what those who have the 1:1 scale busts enjoy. I shouldn't even be thinking along those lines. Someone help me stop the contemplation.

:monkey5 I'm halfway there now. I would like to get a bearded Taylor. I don't have any exclusives from the PotA line. I still need Brent and would like a Nova. I have asked my dealer on a price for the Lawgiver, and he has just overlooked my request so far. It is a great line, handled strangely. Money is always an issue, but as a collector what would I do if I had nothing to collect.

Things are a little different down under. My dealer has tried pushing me to buy more ape figures. A figure hasn't languished here till it needs to be dusted off to see what it actually is. So I reckon it will be some time till they are discounted. It's pretty hard to find a discounted Sideshow figure abouts. A joyous day when one is found.
