I'm surprised no one mentioned anything until I did.. It was the first thing I took out of the box.. Tapped on it a few times thinking "is this plastic? You've got to be kidding"..... I so glad it's defective so I can return it for free! :yess:

I'll wait it out a year or so and pick one up on eBay for cheap cause they're still warming the shelves....

Got your PM.. don't seem to remember my password there so I didn't get to check them out yet....

I can reset your password until you're able to change it yourself. Send me a PM here with your username and a temp password. I'll get right on it.

It's been awhile since I've been on there.. I'll check into it again when I get home and see what I can figure out., pretty sure it's the same user name...

Some will make them thicker if thats a concern. Trust me, they don't have to be super thick to be durable. If you go too thick it can be just as bad as too thin. I've had cosplayers abuse them at a quarter inch thickness and survive. We're talking six foot shelf drops, being slammed against the pavement etc.

You can say that again Tom! I own one of riggsmcclanes bios and was pleasantly surprised at how well casted it was when it dropped from my wall due to a shoddy hanging wire I'd used. (lesson learned!)

I like the fact that Matt rose worked on this sculpt but as RiggsMcclane put it, the stunt bio its way better than this incarnation of the P1 bio even if Matt rose worked on it. there's so many inaccuracies from the snout, the fins, the crown to the hose ports. add sideshows poor casting and poor QC and its an easy pass.

Hello all, I've been a long time visitor of these forums but never chimed in before. Well I figured I should now since I finally have purchased my first prop replica from Sideshow. Got my Predator mask in today. After seeing all of the bad things here I had my expectations set pretty low. I was expecting to be upset by what I saw, maybe that's why I was actually surprised to be a little happy with what I recieved today.

I think I got a little lucky with mine, there is no rattling in the mask, the LEDs all light the same, and the paint job doesn't look as bad in person as some of the photos I've seen here. Although the blast mark is pretty cheesy looking and I was planning on touching up the weathering myself to give it a slightly more authentic look.

As far as it feeling cheap or light, I don't feel that way about it myself. I was actually surprised by how solid it feels in hand, although I have nothing to compare it to as far as any other bio helmets from Sideshow. I did own one of the original Icons replicas for many years (I loved that thing, but had to sell it on eBay when time were hard a few years back), I honestly think this one feels much better in hand than the Icons replica did. :/

It's definitely not perfect, I do have the same issue with the display stand when using the desktop mode. The mask does wobble, but using the wall mount is very sturdy and the magnet seems to be strong. I was always planning on displaying it mounted so I suppose it's not a deal breaker for me.

My mask does have the same rough spot on the side with the three hose ports, although not as rough looking as some of the other pictures I've seen here. My mask is number 110, not sure if that has something to do with the issues being worse for some. Either way, it is a disappointment as far as quality control goes. I will be emailing them about the issues so they are aware. Hopefully the more complain, the more they realize they need to make improvements in quality control. (I'm trying to be optimistic, can't help it).

Anyways, Those issues aside I am happy with what I got today. After feeling so sad selling my Icons Predator mask years ago, it feels good to finally have the classic Predator mask back in my collection again... Might be why I'm so forgiving of the flaws. Hmmm... :dunno

Here's some pics, sorry if the quality isn't great. Took these with the iPad, might be too large. :/

Man your display room is amazing!

Is this mask really not worth getting? I've looked forward to the Classic mask for years :(

What works for you is all that matters... I have all but two of their bios and this one is the first that let me down when I opened it... First thing you'll notice is the base feels like plastic... Hollow and cheap plastic! Not at all heavy and solid feeling like all the others.. (That was the kicker for me) there's also an issue with the magnetic base attachment.. On mine and a couple others I've read about here it doesn't hold worth a poop and just flops around when you touch it.. First I've seen that issue and it sucks....

If the magnet worked on mine I'd be tempted to keep it but the change in the base is really disappointing!
