Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Exclusivity! Lower number and switch outs.
Lot of money for a Breather Mask & Disc in hand.

It's expensive but higher the price, much higher the price if you miss out.

Wow. Man I need to jump on these exclusives more often . Would do a better job convincing the wife hehe. I just showed her the link above and she was how many did you buy lol

I just don't see the Ex as being a must have to anyone. People only care about the low ES, but I bet most never even display any of the Ex parts. It's not like the reg ES is high by todays standards. I will be waiting for in hand pics, unless this Narin 1/3 P2 ever gets finished.

Mine will be displayed with disc in hand.
Would work better with an empty left hand though. Ditch the Breather Mask SS or add another hand :lecture

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I always go for the EX version when possible. There's just something about the flexibility of being able to switch it up that I really like. It also helps that I'm in the States so it's really no difference to me cost wise. Only drawback is the NDR that I have to commit to. Those of you that have to deal with custom fees I really feel for you and it has to make it a tougher decision.

It's tough. I'm actually paying $400 more for the EX (which is a whole other PF when you think of it). I got a 20% off offer here in Australia but once I saw the 300 ES I felt it was a worthwhile investment.

The thing with large scale preds I've come to accept is that it usually goes something like this...

1) This looks awesome
2) This looks rubbish
3) I don't need this
4) Sells out eventually sometimes quicker than predicted
5) This is awesome why didn't I buy it
6) I snagged this for only $800 more than I could have got it retail... what a bargain......

I'm just going to save myself the heart break this time!

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Ex should of been the unmasked portrait but I'm still happy to pay more for the lower es, switch out parts and also to get it a couple of months before local retailers.

I think that's a bit too much. For $1200 I would want both sculpts , EX or no EX. That's a lot of money to miss out. I know they do it with $400 PF's but I think at this price point you would need both to make it worth the cash.

I think perhaps instead of the breather , a folded Spear could have been cool.

Either that or the grail of all EX editions - King Willy!

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Yeh, they obviously want to sell the regulars too but COH is the ultimate Ex imo.
They did it for the P1 and the reg still sold quite easily.

True, they could always have done 3 sculpts. I really think City Hunter deserves an open mouth sculpt. He's my favorite design but Classic is a very close second.

They have only done one sculpt, both heads are the same, one just has the bio pinned on hence both have the same weird dreadlocks. So a second head with open mandibles or different expression such as the P1 lsb really could have been a nice EX actually. That or the net gun which would have been visually nicer than the breather. Would have meant making it removable mind... I think an empty hand wouldn't be much to ask though.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I think a hand holding king Willie's head would have been an absolute homerun...as the exclusive of course.

Completely agree. Come on Sideshow let's switch out the breather hand to this. Also please include a stand for displaying the second head sculpt next to the main statue.

:exactly: I've been asking for a spare portrait stand from day one.
Had to make one for the 1:5 Wolf.

I think at this price point a head stand should be included.

This is true, it's a bit of shame really but usually that's how it goes with Predators. Masked and Unmasked - same sculpt.

Yeah, of all things, they went with his breather mask.

What's next... a small spear? Oh wait!....

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I'm still waiting for the day a company makes a P2 collectible that comes with a gargoyle base. It's the most iconic look of the character.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

No empty left hand is likely so the disk EX is pretty useless, we'll either have to display with both main weapons (spear in left hand, disk in right) or if you just want the disk you'll have to use the breather in his left hand which will make no sense at all if you have the bio head on as I would... and still no changes planned to those stupid dreads. Is it really that much to ask on a $1200 1:4 statue?

Hi Alex, what are the chances of getting an empty left hand for the P2 maquette? If you order the EX which includes the disk for the right hand, you either have to pose it with the spear or breather in the left hand, neither of which are ideal. Also, any word on changes to the head/dread sculpt or the smallish spear yet? New month, had to ask. Many thanks.
Adding another accessory to the Predator 2 Maquette are preeeetty slim to none (yes, yes folks can take that as a 'So, what you're saying is that there is a chance!'...which is true of course...but in this instance it would be a pretty slim chance). :)

And so far, there are still no updates expected to occur to anything on this piece.
