These are comic book characters in the Marvel universe. Let’s not pretend it’s something else. Frank needs to rock the skull everytime he punishes and Matt needs to rock the DD while fighting crime. They might not need to add them, but they should and be true to the source material.

I know it's a weird criticism to make... but I'm actually more bothered by the fuller beard Cox has in the costume. Somehow it doesn't fit the more comic booky suit, and almost makes him look like a different guy under there.
Bullseye looked better in the mask than he did. Not sure exactly why they went with this look for Matt but I've always been low-key bothered by it. Just not the way I picture the character.

I tend to feel the closer to the source, the better. I can totally see him adding the DD to the costume, especially now that he actually uses that name. It seems it wasn't used before the end of Season 3. Seeing him embrace the name now would make sense.

Matt himself says "I'm Daredevil" to Karen in the season 2 finale. He's been going by Daredevil for a while now. Not just post season 3.

Even if he embraces the name, I just can't see why he would feel the need to put a "DD" on his chest. Does the suit really need that extra bit of identification when the horns and red color already say it all? And when it's not even a symbol to inspire fear like the bat, or a symbol like the S shield that represents one's home planet?

I feel like the only reason it would be there is as a nod to fans and nothing more.

They could have also have done it like Ben Affleck's Daredevil and the Ds could have been on the side of his chest but a bit smaller. But apparently the belt has the two Ds so that's pretty much as close as we'll get.

I don’t really see a reason not to add it, since he spent the time to make a crazy ass devil suit to run around in and fight crime. The man without fear is a superhero in Marvel Comics.

Why does Spidey have two spiders front and back on his costume? Do they inspire fear, or represent his home in the MCU? No, it’s just part of the original outfit we all grew up loving in comics and cartoons. It’s just part of what makes superheroes freakin cool.

They should just go all in with Daredevil too and make the suit complete. I know as a fan of the comics through the 70s and 80s I would absolutely love to see it happen, so nod away :rock

I agree with @ironwez20 that 'grounded' or not, I don't love the look of the bulky, Kevlar-styled suit in live action compared to the sleek comic look, but I'm still in the 'no DD' camp.

I can't remember which story it was; a reporter or detective (oh yeah it's been a while) was meeting with Daredevil and his internal monologue reflected on how the costume with the 'plastic horns' should look ridiculous but that in person Daredevil was frightening, as if he was standing next to a wild animal or something. You could convey that on film but it would be difficult. They let the suit do the heavy lifting for the character which I guess is understandable.

Imagine, standing next to a violent, masked and costumed vigilante with superhuman abilities, alone and at night. Even if you're on the same side you might think twice. Maybe think of the unhinged ferocity a young Mike Tyson would have projected.

Well Peter is a dorky kid who wanted to have a cool superhero costume, while Matt just needed some protective gear to keep him safe (and I'm not even sure the horns were his idea, since the suit was made by that Melvin dude).

But I know we're just arguing in circles at this point. And if they do decide to add the DD to his chest I wouldn't be upset by it. I can just understand their reasoning for not having them on there is all.

The only part of this costume I don't like is the black bottom part of the legs. Makes him look like he's wearing long black socks.

Not arguing just a difference of opinion. I would love to see it happen, but not losing any sleep if it doesn’t. At the end of the day it’s a blind guy running around in the dark with armored tights beating people up. Nuff said 😂

Official concept art of the suit. Looks pretty good and about what we see on screen. Red definitely isn't super bright like deadpools but happy it's like this.
