Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

With all the super talented sculptors/ painters we have on this board, I hope after this is released someone sculpts an open left hand for this piece. Shouldn't be that hard for those of you with talent as additional pieces have been done before by those with talent (IE: Joker PF head) I would be 100% down for that! So keep an open mind peeps because I also don't like the tiny spear or breather mask! Let's just hope someone takes on the task!

Yeah... and new heads with a more accurate bio and better dreads. Although at 1200 plus additional costs I'd begrudge paying another penny towards this. SS aren't even going to give us quills never mind fixes.

I understand the inaccuracies, but it's still an attractive piece. Aren't you buying this? If so, why are you getting it if it doesn't seem worth the loot to you?

I ordered this genuinely hoping SS would act on the overwhelming negativity regarding the dreads. The small spear isn't a deal breaker for me, I've even given up caring about the random toothed base, but the dreads really are killer. I've said all a long this is almost there and really wouldn't take much to really make it great. Plus now I can see it in person before I decide whether I can get over the flaws if they are present on the production pieces.... the 300es should at least see me get my money back if no changes happen in production and I decide to sell.

As I said a few pages back... it looks epic from behind and the side, it is just that front on head/dreads that need attention. And with the ridiculous price ss set on this it isn't much to ask. One day in the workshop for SS and it could be worth the loot I'm sure. do you not agree?

Yeh Matt! Why???

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Ahh, only a little more though, whats this going to be for us, about $1600 or so all in. I didn't think that bit through when I placed my NRD :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

The only thing they are going to change is the release date and make it later :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

There's always something better down the line. This piece is nice looking, but def has a few hiccups.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

As has been said before - there are some of us that have bought it despite what are (to us) annoying flaws.

On delivery, if they are sufficient to spoil enjoyment of the piece, it will simply be redirected on to someone else. I guarantee I won't lose any money one way or another! :wink1:

If I spent what some folks do on OTHER hobbies then I wouldn't have purchased. To me it was a "let's see what might get changed and what it's like on delivery" buy.

(* of course - if the Canadian to USD exchange rate is still in the toilet when it's delivery time - that too will influence my decision on keep / return / sell :lol *)

.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I take it you don't get the delivery back if you send it back? (international).

Depends if it is faulty or not, I guess if it is wildly different to the prototype you could argue it isn't what you paid your money for and have shipping covered. But if you just don't like it then shipping is on you. Easier to put it on ebay or sell it through the forum in such a case I should imagine.

By the way, we probably suspected as much, but Steve Wang unfortunately will not be doing a P2 for cinemaquette (his words yesterday) More reason to try and convince SS to just make a few small improvements to this as Narins kit form P2 won't be for everybody, this is likely to be the only large scale P2 polystone statue for some time to come.
