Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette (CANCELLED!... For now)
What exactly are you calling them though? Liars? Cheats? Crooks? You may have no faith, but that doesn't mean others don't. I'm sorry, but I still like Sideshow as a company and they've given me some of my most treasured collectibles, and very recently too. So because of this, I'm going to take their word for it and have a little faith in what the representatives are telling us and hope for the best. If it turns out the opposite and doesn't happen, well then it doesn't happen.
If you stop going to the restaurant, the stop going. Seems like you're still peeking in the windows every day though.
Sure there was general worries and negative opinions on the piece, but that didn't stop many of these people from pre-ordering it anyway. The bottom line is this: they put out a prototype and you either liked it enough to order it or you didn't. A lot of people did, including myself, and to me that leads me to believe there was a general consensus that this piece could be awesome if delivered near the prototype level.
I'm not saying that with these new "quotes" we're getting from the reps that it means that they will come through with what they are suggesting. I'm just saying that if they're suggesting it, then it's possible and I'll take the positive from that.
You're right, it's not the fault of anyone but Sideshow and their chosen factory. But at least they've recognized that it isn't working and they need to figure out a new solution. And whatever that solution may or may not be, I'm just going to sit here and hope for the best, not worry and speculate about the worst. Suggesting scenarios and Sideshow downfalls does nothing but fuel the fire that a lot of haters love to pile on.
Calling a spade a spade isn't being negative, it's being realistic. The reason many have no faith in SS coming through is because far to often we get poor results for our money. They tend to never give us answers on what went wrong. One guy may get a good statue others a bad one. Some get replacements, others don't. Sometimes we get great pieces like Gladiator/King Hulk and Hellboy other times we get Apocalypse. It's like going to your favorite restaurant and 50% of the time you get food poisoning...there comes a point you stop going.

Where's the hate? There was plenty of negative opinions about the product before this delay/cancellation was announced.
I'm sad for people who had enough faith to pre-order and make monthly payments only to be refunded which will result in them losing money.
Are we actually being promised a better product or just something closer to the, already flawed, proto? Surely that is what people expect, and should receive, when parting with hard earned cash.
It's not the fault of anyone here that the factory can't do their job.
