This brought me question: Does the quality of paints have anything to do with "low numbered"? I think not but maybe... coolness factor?

Numbers don't equate to better quality, sometimes an "artist proof" or "sample" will be higher standard as they know those will be looked at harder, but the numbered ones are random as far as quality is concerned. There are rare instances where a batch can be better or worse, but that almost never happens.

I received my breather mask hand today and it is noticeably nicer in sculpt and paint job than the hands that came with my regular edition. The breather mask is well sculpted and painted as well. The piece looks like it was done at a different factory or something. Anyone else notice higher quality ex parts?

It isn't an EX vs Regular thing, it's just inconsistency. I had two EX versions of this, the first was noticeably better painted than the second which had barely any weathering in comparison.

No, they are made in the same place, on the same line and the numbering is random at the end of production as far as we know. The item numbered "1" wasn't necessarily made first in reality.

So it's for coolness factor. Never understand why someone preferred lower number anyway. Except for that number has meaning. Like, SS Master Chief EX #117 or something like that.
In fact, my SS Arthas was numbered 0079 (or so) and guess what... he doesn't even light up! I was furious at first but decided to mod him instead... and it was one of the best decision ever, by adding LED lamp into his base. He's now one of the best-looking statue in my collection.

Royce I believe you are the one who bought my spare parts from eBay, I improved the paint apps on those pieces.

Probably so! Lol.. Well thank you. I immediately noticed that it was completely different. I wasn't sure if I'd ever use the breather mask but it looks too good to not display lol.. What all did you do to improve your piece? I can tell that the base has been redone and the predator himself looks richer and slightly glossy.

I don't have the eye to notice a difference on the Predator. Besides the glossiness how did Martell improve it?
