Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Me neither really, I tend to buy for characters I like rather than films etc though. P2 was Hardly a great film in most peoples eyes ;) Also, with regards to Sauron being less detailed, I'm not so sure, he has a heck of a lot of detail if you look closely. aside from the head, most of the p2's detail is paint work and that won't be great anyway unless a miracle occurs. Plus he is about 45% bigger than the P2 maquette if our math is correct, that is huge...

Looks like a nice sculpt with easy paint job to me :dunno
Predator will have more detailed paint, much more detail on the unmasked portrait with added netting and switch out parts.
Oh and...
I LOVE PREDATOR 2! How dare you :nono :rotfl

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

So talked to Sideshow on twitter...I asked them if this would be up during Spook..they said, "Outlook good"...Pretty sure that's a Yes.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Should have been a given

Yeah...I was hoping it would be sooner, but it's all good...2 months not bad.....have to wait over a year after that...:thud:

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I would love a 1:4 original Predator. My 1:3 CM won't display well with this...
Oh well!

How did your 1:5 turn out? I cancelled and lost all all interest in the line.

I would love to have a 1/3 CM Pred! I would just stick that bad boy in a corner all by himself.
My 1/5 turned out pretty cool. I have a couple issues with it like the way the dreadlocks won’t let the neck come completely together and the paint has some minor issues. But overall it’s not as bad as some people say. I wasn’t blown away by it but I wasn’t totally disappointed in it either. For now it does the job and it’s the best Predator I can afford that I have any interest in. P1 and P2 are by far my favorite movies in the franchise. Hopefully this Maquette can fill the spot of a really nice Predator that I’ve wanted in my collection for what seems like forever.

This maquette should be leagues ahead of that one. Should. :)

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

You guys that think this will be under $799 (at the very least) are kidding yourselves. SS know that Preds sell well and that they are extremely popular. If the new Conan sells for what's it's selling, you can expect this to be much much higher.

Why are we kidding ourselves? I think estimating the value of this piece to be under $799 is a good shout. You say that Sideshow knows Preds sell well and are extremely popular...well so is the Hulk and the Maquette sold for under $799! You cant just say that because its popular that Sideshow will stick a $1K price tag on it! Trust me, if its over $799 then i'll buy you a beer :duff

I did say some people... I'm with you ;)

I do disagree about Sauron though, I think he is a much higher valued item due to his sheer sized and detail, he is also sculpted by the same guy/team. Hopefully for us all SS will agree and won't rip us off based on the P2's popularity....

If they do I'm sure they'll have their reasons and we'll all buy into it in the end. :lol

While it certainly isn't worth anywhere near that amount... I fear you will be getting a free beer soon enough ;)

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I think Predator 2 and Predators is more enjoyable to me than Predator.

And they wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the original and the best.

P2 has a lot more going on and I grew to love Predators, hated it first time I saw it, but the original will always be special for me.
I can still remember how blown away I was after watching it for the first time, 1987, at the age of 15.

AvP is also one of my favourite films but reqium?! WTF happened there?

Edit; Did I just give my age away :slap :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I quite enjoyed Predators also, none of them come close to the original however. The tense build up and the slow reveal... perfection.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Im thinking $600, Sauron is $899 and much larger and detailed IMO from looking at the pics!
