He doesn't want to pay the NRD. And you don't have to keep checking it if you waitlist. SS will send you an email if your order converts. And if you're like me you get email on your phone. It's like getting text messages.

Then they want the NRD to secure your order, still don't see the point

It's pretty simple. You use the waitlist if

A. You missed the pre-order and it's sold out

or

B. You are unsure about an item and don't want to pay to pre-order

The idea of canceling converted waitlist only to waitlist again and again until you see in hand pics doesn't sound like the best idea to me either. Chances are that's not going to work out in the end. Not even close.

I've always estimated this piece to cost around $699 mark max!!...cant seem to justify why this piece should be worth more

I'm with you, unfortunately SS feels no need to justify their prices as some people will pay any made up figure for these things. I guess we'll find out around Halloween time now....
