Yea the paints are off which is what I expected but I also will just tweek mine when it comes. Also looking for some better pics these all seem washed out.

Still, you can clearly see the detail on top of his head is a disaster.
Even if the colours are better in person wtf is going on with the black triangles?

The black triangles are not the thing thats off its the shape of the designs on the head that make the triangles seems out of place. The pattern is not coming close enough to it and leaving the center design too large

Looks like they ran out of brown, yellow and orange paint. What a shame for such a great sculpt. It might be better if they sell us just the unpainted version for half and let us get it professionally painted.

The black triangles are not the thing thats off its the shape of the designs on the head that make the triangles seems out of place. The pattern is not coming close enough to it and leaving the center design too large

My point
On the proto it looks like part of the design and on the production piece it look totally out of place, That's why I called it a disaster.

I would of thought once they leave the factory sealed the next person to see it would be the customer.
Aparantly SS have regular visits to the factorys to make sure the products are top quality

I wonder if the same factory that does these crappy paint apps is the same one that eFx has build there products.I dont know whats worse the QC for sideshow or the QC cor Efx. Only difference is sideshow will replace and return phone calls and emails as efx(bryan) waits 14 months to do anything and makws empty promises.

The question of having people (SS people) at the factory has been brought up before. It wasn't a solution SS wanted to pursue. It is an advantage HT has in the paint department.

With SS and HT's partnership don't see how they can not work together on improving the paint.

I got so tired of purchasing SS product and hoping I get a good piece that I don't buy SS statues anymore. The last piece I bought was P1 LSB. I past on Dutch, Elder, P1, and this one because I don't like paying for things that might or might not be good.

My small contributions to SS might not affect them enough to notice, but it saves me headaches.

Well I'll put pictures up of mine when I get my hands on it tomorrow. Hopefully I won't be disappointed since this will be my first SS purchase ever. I'm not a collector per say, but I never liked the 1/6 scale models to collect, the larger statues and bust attracted me to SS.

are there any other places that sell this kind of work? In case I should take my future business elsewhere.

yeah the head or dome doesn't look right to me mate, the so called triangles don't look very nice & they really stand out, I get the impression they used a stencil & then used a spray to paint over the head!
Unfortunately the first thing your eyes are drawn to is the head.
When you compare these photos with the production piece there is quite a difference, apart from that the actual sculpt itself is quite good, I like it, the issue we had with the Pred 1 & the crooked fangs or tooth doesn't seem to be an issue on this piece!

Just like i thought that one pic was super washed out. The dome pattern is still off but i think that will be for all of them. I would assume they used a template or something. Either way with the colors less washed out im pretty happy with this.
