the back of the sculpt? CP used the same exact design to do the back of their P2. Their P2 doesn't have the acrylic eyes or drool like the P1 anymore either, so that in itself would be a step back on their P1. We shall see, but I don't see anything made today that could "blow" out the original.

It's somewhat difficult to explain but it's the paint app and some sloppy sculpting on the back of the Sideshow P1 that has always annoyed me. I'm just hoping CoolProps does it justice all around and by the looks of the P2, I'm confident they will.

WOW THANKYOU for the pic,s and info darkmummy - I,m more than happy with the price and production piece,

even without the glass eyes and drool this is still a winner, even when I mention flexpay through sideshow,

Ive managed to get the funds together today to put to oneside this will look great beside my 1/1 P1 and Wolf Bust...

This and my preorder for the Terminator Endoskeleton Life-Size Bust will be the last 1/1 for the collection as space is an issue..

The paint on the entire p1 bust could be better. It's not bad, but it's certainly a far cry from the pinnacle ;p

I'm not sure the intention is to beat the SSC version, so much as to offer a version to match their own P2, and to cater for people who may not own the SSC version which is very much hard to get hold of these days. It does make sense I guess. I'd like to see them inject a bit of character into it with the positions of the mandibles and eyebrows etc, Sideshow achieved a good look with their lsb actually.

I agree, the pose of the Sideshow LSB is great and was a fresh take on the P1. I cant wait to see what they come up with!

CoolProps' P2 bust is miles above Sideshow's P1 bust in paint quality. And we all know P2 has a far more complex paint scheme than P1.

No doubt CoolProps' P1 bust will blow Sideshow's out of the water. The paint was always a bit lacking on that one anyway IMO.

came back late, sorry for the waiting guys!
The bust will be put on pre-order the late of this month. And the price is 145000 japanese yen, roughly 1200-1300 usd.
They have shown the production piece from china this time, which only arrived three days ago from china, and looks almost the same!
They're going to make p1 bust as well.

Hmm.. I'm wondering now how are they going to make a P1 bust without plagiarizing Sideshow's? Their P2 is already sort of a homage to SSC's P1, with the exact same base format design. Their P1 is gonna look pretty eerily similar so SSC unless they go with something completely different like closed mouth or even with the Bio mask on.

As you said, the base design on this looks like it was made to compliment the SS piece.

Not sure I want/need another 1:1 P1 bust - quite happy with the Sideshow piece (their glory days ).

The only thing that could convince me to sell off the ss version would be a closed mouth. I think that look is just so much meaner looking. If they do another open mouth version, not likely I will sell off what I already have.
