As I posted previously, I thought I would contact HT CS about the Taiwan head I received (just for ____s and giggles).

Finally got a reply:
"Hello ------,
Would you please provide the sales receipt & the photo support for our checking?
We will get back to you soon after receiving the above information.
Thanks!
Remarks: After-sales service will only be provided for first-hand purchase via official channels.
After-sales service is not applicable for purchase on online auction sites (e.g. eBay, Yahoo) and unofficial channels.
Due to the limited edition nature of our collectibles, we cannot guarantee that all accessories or items can be replaced. Please note that over 30 days of purchase or product released for more than 1 year will NOT be accepted. Hot Toys reserves final rights on all replacement requests.
Thanks,
Best regards
KC/ Hot Toys Ltd"

In other words if you live in europe, australia, etc we don't care about you. So they admit there is a manufacturing FU but again won't take responsibility for it.
Disgraceful!

Actually that means that you have to go through the seller if you want to get a replacement. Same thing happened when I bought a HT figure from a retailer, I had to go through the retailer to communicate with Sideshow who then communicated to HT.

Downside is there are more steps to take, and the length of time does not bode well for a replacement. But, you are not completely out of luck if you start following the proper channels right away.

Nah, you just have to send HT a photo and your paypal receipt. You might have to send back the part for exchange in some cases. They have really great customer service on the odd occasion when you have a broken or missing part.

They even sent me a part for something I accidentally broke, and even though I said it was my fault and I would be happy to pay for the part, they still still sent it for free. I've got over 100 HT figures and have only had to contact them 5 times in ten years.

You usually only get 3 standard responses from them:

Here's the direct comparison with the original 1/6 predator... really is crazy how far they've come in 10+ years. And for those who are curious the Medicom Predator used to easily sell for $100 back when Sideshow was still charging $40 for one of their figures.

But if they make the figure bulkier he has to be taller so as to retain the proportions.

Thats why the scale thing has bugged me a bit in the past. In the film Arnie is so small next to the Predator that he looks outmatched in every way while the figures have always had it that it looks like a fight could go either way. That Dutch figure looks like it could take the Predator in a hand-to-hand battle.

However, if you can get over that and at this point I can, you've still got a great looking figure. I wouldn't be displaying Predator and Dutch in battle anyway, unless I had a mud-covered warrior Dutch.

Why? I don't see why you couldn't add more bulk without the need to add extra height. A little more height for P1 couldn't hurt, but I don't think I would add anything to Classic. It's not something I notice when everything is properly futzed and well posed. I think the perception of size has more to do with the way the movie was shot, because we know how tall Arnie and Kevin really were. And anyway, is it even really something that could be considered serious enough to cancel!?

The height and proportions look great to me in these pics.

Is he doing the madison? :slap:lol:lol:lol

:horror An impressive figure (no pun intended) Have you got a Show your shelves thread?

Not as impressive as some I know... I have a lot more statues and props, etc. than that... Maybe one day I'll create one of those threads.

How about you?

Because you'd run the risk of making him look fat....which I guess would be accurate for Classic. He could do with extra height and size overall but no, I wouldn't cancel over it.

No, I don't, as of now I don't actually have proper shelves. Waiting for a gap period where HT aren't releasing anything at all of interest before I fund my actual display of the figures. What are the odds of that happening.

2012 may be a good year to start. It's not like we have The Avengers, TDKR, Prometheus or Star Wars to look forward too...
