it's hard to believe it's already been almost 5 years since this guy was released

Lucky you guys for knowing about - and getting - these guys for so long. I discovered them last year. Better late than never, suppose. That said, I'm hooked. D-D-D-DANGEROUS **** however: just ordered Celtic. What I'm fearing, as a solely predator collector, though, is that soon there's nothing to research, order and long for... What then? Huh?? What then??? Haha

Why did you just find out about them last year? Are you new to collecting?

And yes, getting in to hot toys is dangerous, I probably could have bought a brand new car with the money I've spent on them over the years.

Actually you may find there's a lot to long for when you start realizing that these could always be improved, and the marketing for 2.0 is just convincing enough to make you pull another trigger....I'm still waiting to see if they'll do a proper p1... They redid elder after all and the prototype's head and face was a dead ringer for p1 proportionally

Yeah, discovered them last year. Funnily enough - and to her future detriment - when my girl pre-ordered the Play Arts Kai predator for my birthday. (I'm a huge Predator fan.) I'd been disconnected from toys and action figures for almost two decades, but that figure got me researching and finding Hot Toys, NECA and this place. She ended up getting me the HT Classic. That was the bang that set off the avalanche... We now have a detolf full of Predators in our bedroom. (Had to work hard to get it in there, as you can imagine.)

Oh, for sure. But I've realized it takes a long time before things go from announced to in hand. So, even if I hope and look forward to a 2.0 P1 and improvements to the existing 2.0s, I know they are years away. That's been one of the good things with finding out about these things recently - it's like binge watching a series you like when the season or show is concluded. Patience is not my strong point.

well...

1) head & bones & left bicep armor.

still didn't like the armor.

2) full piece of body vest.

put a lot of effort into making it green (effort for a person who can't paint and hates painting) so tried to keep it. but it was too small. \\

3) hybrid body vest - most part is new, but that piece "medkit+cannon" was replaced with old one to keep the medkit working and to replace that horrible, horrible molten shoulder gun mount. oh and later cannon was replaced with new one, because old one almost broke off the peg. pity. it was better.

4) old: head, bicep armor, hands (they have unique shape of palm that no other predator has), half of body vest, groin armor, bones, leather straps on knees and elbows. and may be that leather skirt is old, yep i think so, as i had to widen it.
mask is tylerdurdem.
everything else is new.
chest belts are a mix of old & new: old detailed ones glued over new cheap plain plastic stripes.

Yeah that's what I meant. I'm not sure what parts they are since I'm no expert, the only obvious ones I see were the bone trophies.

Also, are all the neck pegs loose with the Classic Pred? I know it was brought up many years ago.

I'm having a 'blonde' moment so to speak and my Classic had the dreaded lack of gold beads in his dreads. I always thought that in the movie his gold beads had faded until I was corrected...anyways what would you guys would recommend as being the best gold paint to get to touch these suckers up?

Hi folks - I'm fairly new to HT collecting, just took delivery of one of these bad boys new from a seller in HK. I've only briefly opened the box to check the figure, will be unboxing properly tomorrow - I see the dreads are rubber, I get the impression HT doesn't have a great track record with rubber parts. Should I be applying shin-etsu (or something else) to the dreads? Any advice gratefully received!

I don't know any issues of dreads breaking apart on any of the newer Preds. I have a few and all of them are just as perfect as the day I got it.

Thanks, that's good news. I was a bit nervous about buying a 5 year old figure but at first glance it looks great, really looking forward to getting it out of the box and set up in the detolf this weekend. Of course now I have this, HT are absolutely guaranteed to release an updated jungle hunter on the back of the new movie...

I wouldn't say it's guaranteed, at least not anytime soon. They went through a period recently where they redid all the AVP preds, and seemingly stopped before getting to the Jungle and the Wolf Preds. Although, I do see them doing it for sure, but it's just a question of when.

I absolutely love the figure. I added some trophies and the Pred 2 bag (basically parts I could get cheap on eBay). He was missing some accessories for sure but when added in he now looks more like a jungle hunter predator. The base is very cool too. Not a fan of the unmasked face tho with the mandible seams and all. Got the Neca 1/4 unmasked city hunter to display an unmasked predator. Overall tho this is an amazing figure and has a lot more to offer than some of today's recent releases. Cannot see myself upgrading even if a Jungle Hunter 2.0 will be released.
