i still can't figure out who in their right mind would name their kid Nimrod. :lol

excited for this, can't wait :rock

the director is hungarian, and nimrod is the name of a legendary king who built and ruled many cities, including babylon.

calling someone nimrod is akin to calling someone einstein as a sarcasm. doesnt change the original meaning of the word.

I'm sure I've heard Nimrod used as an insult. It also sounds like the name of a Transformer to me.

Anywho, I didn't know Laurence Fishburne was in this. Interesting.

Nimrod is the name of the guy who ordered the Tower of Babel be built in the Bible. I suppose that explains the negative connotation attached that name.

Don't know if this is old news but...Dark Horse has a synopsis of the movie-tie'-in comics on line...

Issue # 1
A team of Navy Seals is in the midst of a firefight when it suddenly goes dark. They awake to find themselves in a new and more deadly environment, stalked by a strange enemy. One by one these special-ops officers are killed by an unseen threat, until only one man remains. All alone in a strange world, he must do what he knows best-survive against all odds.

Issue #2:

The lone Navy Seal finds himself in an uneasy alliance when he discovers another survivor on the planet-but he also learns that here humans are prey, transplanted from Earth to this alien jungle, to be hunted for sport.

Issue #3:

The human alliance strains under the threat of the vicious Predators, an elaborate system of traps, and the impossibility of escape, until the men are locked in their own game of cat and mouse against each other.

Issue # 4

Traps are set off and new Predators enter the fray in the blood-drenched conclusion: the set-up for Robert Rodriguez's reboot of the Predator film series!

Not exactly original, but...
Could be cool...we'll see...

Looks like it's going to SOP for movies like this to have comic "prequel/introductions" before the movie opens.
The one for last summer's "Star Trek" reboot was pretty good ("Countdown") so we'll see if this one works for the "Predators" movie...
