Good post PopCult :lecture

I got to admit..

The Bateman is my first Iminime purchase and reading this thread is making me a little worried and nervous :( so much love for the Bateman character and I love the reveal so far, If it means taking a little more time to get this right then I dont mind. I hope we get what we see in the reveal

Just sharing my thoughts, I dont mean to start any arguments or anything. just something playing on my mind :(

I guess you kind of brought to my attention how many lurkers and Freaks who are less experienced with Iminime may read this. I mean I'm well aware that it's an open forum but I guess I sometimes loose conciseness and feel like I'm talking to a smaller group.

Let me clarify to all who have never bought from Iminime because I don't want you guys to misunderstand me and I definitely don't want you to be worried to purchase from them. I was just giving it hard and straight, and giving my review for better or for worse. There was also a level of venting in my post that other Iminime vets may be able to relate to. Really my intention was to chop it up with them and bring certain things to Denny's attention; but like I said, I lost sight of the fact that when you talk here everybody hears you.

Most of my frustration comes from being a long time buyer from them. The guys like me who have been purchasing from basically their first release have gone thru the growing pains with Iminime. So as a first time buyer please don't pay any of my negativity too much mind. Denny is a total class act and he's committed to improve and grow this company that is full of talent. Iminime has improved in many ways from where they were a year ago and I have no doubt that they will be in an even greater position a year from today.

I own 6 Iminime figs (still regret that I passed on Gordon), have another 4 PO'd and I’m eagerly waiting on a BUNCH of upcoming stuff that is either in progress or slated to be. The point is all new customers can buy with confidence! And definitely don't be worried about Bateman!! That looks to me like it's their greatest creation to date!! I have a DX PO'd :wink1:

Ty my friend. That is pretty limited. I saw a few in eBay from iminime for a descent price. Thank goodness they're nor pulling crazy prices like a rainman figure on there now for,gulp,$2000.I would love to get a few of the iminime outfits, like Daryl and Rick from Walking Dead, but it looks like those single outfits are selling out way before the full figure. I just want the outfit to put on a Hot Toys TTM with a Warriors Gate Productions head. If anyone on the board bought an extra or one they don't want please let me know.

I know that Rick's outfit was sold out but it seems to be available again on their site. Get it while the gettin's good!

There was some kind if trouble with the address. It made it to customs in Chicago and then was sent back. So lame. Denny thought it might have been the zip code. I thought for once I was going to be one of the first with a figure but sadly no.

Up side is now I can start planning the gurney. :)

I for one definitely appreciate popcultkid's honesty. If a product is not up to expectations, then you should voice that. That's the point of having an outlet like this forum. It's not to make the owner of Imimime feel bad or hurt anyone's feelings. As a business owner, you have to learn to take criticism as not everyone will be happy with a product. On the flip side, you have a lot of people getting on the thread and saying wonderful things about the company to not anger the owner. Im sorry but that's bad juju. O for one want correct info about these products. I'm getting ready to order 2 sets of Walking Dead outfits and you can be sure if I don't like them, I will let people know. That's just business and you suck it up. Honestly, outside of collectors from this, and maybe other forums, does Iminime get it's sells from? It's not a company like Sideshow or Hot Toys that you're buying from. It's a small customizer like so many more on the board. I even saw yesterday, s shill compliment for the Lecter figure. Don't believe me, go back and look at the posts and there was a person that joined from Korea yesterday and their first post was how wonderful the Lecter figure was. Check it our. That throws up a red flag. I'm not trying to down the products because I think they look great. That's why I'm buying the outfits from them. However, if you can't take a little criticism from a loyal customer that paid hundreds of dollars for a figure, there's something wrong with that. To show how important customers are to the business, they even gave a $50 refund/credit to buyers. That just shows how much of their business comes from this board. Before about 4 months ago I'd never heard of iminime and I've been collecting HT, Sideshow, and other figures for years. I just had to get this off my chest because it looked like that some members were trying to shame other members for complaining about a product.

An update to my previous posting.....

God damn I always love your pics! Why did you edit the first one??? That one was awesome too, throw it back up!

How did you get the top strap so high? Are you not using the bottom one?

Thanks drdandalek. I'm glad that you see where I'm coming from; I believe Denny does too.

On this board we spend a lot of time throwing rose pedals at all of the artists and customizers feet and rightfully so; most times they deserve it. But I think that it's also important to talk about it when things that you pay good money for aren't up to par.

Taking on bad feedback is definitely not easy but it is an important to improve and move in the right direction. I'm sure Denny knows that I love what he does and I'm a big fan of his team’s work. But it's important to know what's on your customers' minds for better or for worse

There you go.

I don't know how Pop even got his strap over the top of the head, much less what Robbie did. Did you guys try stretching the mask somehow?

I stretched the hell out of it. :cuckoo: :wink1:

I am fearless to the point of stupid when it comes to figures. I am really heavy handed and I will mess with it till it breaks then fix it and mess with it more.

But seriously, I hooked my finger nails on the straps and slowly kept sliding it back till it got to the point I wanted. The middle strap is now loose so I will probably shorten it some to balance it out. But I like it better now.

No broski, I didn't use heat and I didn't stretch it either. The mask is slightly bendable if you pinch it at the temple area. There is also a little gap between the bottom of his chin and the mask when you put it on. The last strap gets caught on the bottom of his hair; there's no way around that.

So I just get the mask on, middle strap above his ears, bottom strap jammed at his hair. While pinching the temple area (creating a higher arch for the top strap) I simultaneously push the mask up beneath his chin. Both steps give the top strap enough play to get higher. Once it's up there I turn him around (back of his head facing me) and I use my nails to shimmy the strap back to a point where it's tight.

Looks great! The gurney is really going to set it off. Someone should experiment/mod with thin strands of hair placed on the sculpt to give it the more messy hair gurney look.

I really want to see an unmasked head. I ordered the head and gurney clothing set but won't ship until Riggs head get's done. So it'll be nice to see an on hand pic of this head while I wait.

I thought I was being a bit careless just getting the mask where I got it on my figure :lol

Yea I caught Robbie's post after I sent mine. He uses his nails too. I think your just being overly gentle with it, and rightfully so. But you do have to be a little rough to get the job done; which is a bit scary because I got worried I was going to break something a few times but it's built pretty well. Took a lickin' and kept on tickin'

The strap was the only real forceful part though. My pinch and push trick clears the nose no problem

I may give it another go later today, but. . .maybe I'm happy enough with it as-is without risking damage.

Someone posted some maskless pics a few pages back.
