Ditto. It funny how this thread continues to go south.

When will you guys learn that NOBODY is going to change their minds. Everyone believes in whatever angle they are coming from, they believe in the candidate they believe in... Nothing you guys cut and past from some website is going to change that.

As for "victory in Iraq"... we got that line of garbage from Bush, and we are still there. They said it would be over quickly, it's been 5 years... We've wasted money and lives in a campaign that has absolutely no guarantee of achieving anything. Even if we stayed for another 5 years, built up their infrastructure and democracy... as soon as we pull out... things can go south.

We need to slowly hand the Iraqis the reigns and get out while we still have the power to help our OWN people out of possible poverty. Focus on Al Quada, and punish the people who actually attacked us on 9/11. But that's just me...

if memory serves me from past threads, you out of any of us here have first hand experience... you have lived it and we should all, at the very least take advantage of your knowledge and experience!

I appreciate that bro, it was one of the hardest periods of my life.... I will never forget it, and how close I came to madness while there.

I know it was a huge topic of conversation amongst my shipmates and I, that it made little sense for us to be doing what we were doing. Yes, we were fed the lines about Saddam and his inability to pay heed to UN sanctions and such... But it never made much sense to me. I know there were reasons besides what we were told...

It's a campaign that we never should have gotten involved in, at least IMO.

LOL.

I am a liberal, I am a democrat, I am pro choice, I want stricter laws on firearms, I believe Obama won the debate, and I also believe that John McCain cannot give us the change we so desperately need. No matter who says what I will vote for who I think is:
A: Better fit for the job
B. Someone who can get us out of this mess that the Republicans started
C: Be an charismatic, energetic leader and create change
D. Fix the economy
E. Bring fresh ideas and fresh perspectives
F. Has more knowledge than his opponent

That is why I am voting for Obama. McCain just doesn't have these qualities. He preaches we are winning in Iraq. Winning what? He makes these outrageous comments during the debate that Barack "Just didn't understand" But then Barack came back countered each nonsense remark from McCain and threw it back into his face. Obama made McCain look bad, and it was great.

A. Yeah, I can see where a community organizer with a couple of years of political experience under his belt is a better fit than someone with almost 3 decades of experience.

B. Do you mean the current financial disaster created by the Fannie Mae scandel. A scandel caused by democrat Franklin Raines hired as CEO in 1999 by democrat President Bill Clinton.

C. Well he is pretty good when he has a teleprompter in front of him. Charismatic might get you laid, but it hardly qualifies someone as a great leader.

D. He already had a chance to do that in 2005 but instead voted against Bill S.190. He and the rest of the democrat dummies in Congress. And you wonder why a democrat-run Congress has a 9% approval rating.

E. Ah yes, "hope and change". Lets see, he want's more government, more social programs...and he's going to lower taxes :rotfl. After you finishing buying that one give me a shout...I have some swampland in florida I'd like to sell.

F. Very enlightening. :duh Has more knowledge on what?....community organizing.

Yeah, I sure can see why you'ld want to vote for Obamessiah...it's all crystal clear to me now.

Wow.... good on ya... going after someone for listening to what their party says.. and then go right ahead and repeat the same tired lines fed to you by your own party... that makes me laugh. :lol

Oh... and a big factor in my voting decision has to do with this lady... No way in Hell do I want her leading my country.

If we are voting for stupid beauty queens, we should put this one on the ticket:

"I personally believe that US Americans..."

She's much hotter and slightly stupider. :lol

well come on its not like he could of voted against his party.. i mean that would move him farther right and lower the 97% of voting with his party to 96% and omg that might just make some democrats angry..cause come on the last thing we need in this world is another Joe L. haha

which makes me wonder if something comes up where he has to choose his party or the american people whos he gonna pick? seeing his voting record makes that obvious.

Obamessiah..haha thats classic thats im soo gonna start calling him that.

i appreciate your contributions to this forum and obviously much farther beyond... we could all learn something from your experience and benefit... i know i have.

Let's try and keep this on track - right now it's destined for a lock.

If you can't comment without insulting someone's intelligence or posting broad, insulting generalizations - don't post.

It would be nice if people did have open minds - but it does seem that a lot of people on both sides are very closed minded and aren't willing to see the other side. I disagree with a lot of Obama's energy plans, but there are other factors that I do agree with - same with McCain.

i am boggled. you are defending Palin over Obama? you see merit in choosing her over him?
Why are you boggled? Why don't you understand? Palin believes in drilling for our own oil, as do I. Barrack? NO.

She is a strong supporter of the 2nd ammendment as am I. Barrack? He is very anti-gun who believes in a permanent assault weapons ban. He wants to ban CCW. His VP candidate was a major contributor of our last AWB.

Sarah Palin is strong on defense. Barrack Obama wants to slash billions of dollars from unproven weapons systems. Sounds great huh? Just remember at one time the A-10 Warthog, the Abrams battle tank, and the Stealth bombers were all unproven weapons systems.

She is anti-abortion, as am I, where Barrack is not. It goes on and on. You don't like her that's fine and dandy, but don't be so shocked when people on the Conservative side like her. I cannot think of one thing on Barracks platform that I agree with, and I have that damn right. You say Sarah Palin is and idiot. Care to eplain to me where we got 7 more states from.

i wish Hilary was on Obama's ticket... not that i have any doubts with Biden, but Hilary would have definitely strengthened the bill...

i do however disagree with your view on picking Palin... it was a brilliant move to help get the uninformed and uneducated to have someone to identify with.

you should be right though! in a perfect world, you would absolutely think it was the worst move ever! a moose hunting hockey mom as the president's running mate? but the GOP know that by keeping education at the bottom of the priority list, this is what will appeal to people... i mean, even here in california... a blue state... we have a republican terminator running things...

its sad, but we get the government that we deserve.

Uninformed and uneducated huh. Nice to see the mods are being so fair on who they call out on disrespectful responses.

so you would rather carry on down the same path, but with a 73 year old man with health concerns and a hockey mom form alaska leading the way?

the GOP have many right where they want them it seems.

this thread only proves that our education system needs reform.

The world wants a great United States but reality is just too liberal for most Americans.
Yes, and being as I have not insinuated that you are stupid, I think it would be courteous if you stop insinuating that fellow freaks who don't see things your way are.

I guess you guys missed where Obama was going behind President Bush' back by saying he wanted to pull the troops out of Iraq but secretly trying to get them to stay longer.

Uninformed and uneducated huh. Nice to see the mods are being so fair on who they call out on disrespectful responses.

He wasn't directing it at any member, hence he wasn't breaking any rules. It doesn't matter if he was Repub or Demo...

And hoodonit... it's ok to believe what you believe and side with more conservative views, it's your right to do so. And to those who lean more to the Liberal side... it is theirs as well.

Honestly, everyone has their opinion on what they think a President should be. I personally like mine to be intelligent, flexible, and willing to admit when they are wrong. I don't care if they make a verbal mistake on something like state count, what I want is someone who knows what they are talking about and is willing to do whatever is necessary to put America where it should be. My candidate happens to be Obama, yours may be McCain... It's ok.

We as people should just be more accepting of other peoples opinions and beliefs. Not get on the defensive if someone says something bad about your party in general...

And that was my whole damn point in the other thread that got locked thanks to a few people bringing their POLITICAL views, and not the views on the topic, into play.

Yeah, that is the problem... Conservatives attack the Liberals and Liberals attack the Conservatives. It really gets out of hand pretty quick, especially when the more vocal people in both of the two groups starts going off. :duh

If everyone on this board would handle their responses like you just did in a non judgemental, non ignorant way there would be no problem. One way or another, I to cannot wait for the election to be over. All Americans want what we think is best for this country, it's just that we can't come to a concensus on what that is. I'm going to try to stay away from the political post for awhile, cheers.

Hope this doesn't get me banned, but since the mods are pretty much absent....:monkey3

this thread only proves that our education system needs reform......

Luckily no one else in here is working too hard to make you look like a snide *******. I'm not saying that to be funny or terribly rude, but you're out of line with a lot of your quips.

You might try to quit making it about "I'm smarter than you" and try to argue your point...if you have one at all.

Also, when referring to the uninformed and uneducated you might take a second look at your sentence structure.

The world wants a great United States but reality is just too liberal for most Americans.

The catch with America has always been that the rest of the world is just too liberal for our reality.

It seems odd to adopt the losing teams' strategies this late in the game.

The issue is this. Dont insult people for what they belive in. Go on the American Carol board on IMDB. Bunch of idiots there. Yes...I did contridict myself...but I cant help it. They're all so darn stupid!
