It wasn't at all a literal suggestion. It was a hypothetical to illustrate a point about how really ridiculous people are about their es.

Yes. Of course it was.

This is what I wrote:

"You know, if a company can't move very many of a specific statue at a certain price, it doesn't make sense to make any more than you can sell, predetermined es number be damned. It would be interesting if they said they'd make 350, but actually made 100, because they couldn't sell more than that, and they never told anyone that they only ended up making 100. Maybe only 100 people will actually buy 1, so they could stop at 100, making it a 100 es, but no one knows that, however they don't want to buy it because they THINK it's 350. It's purely hypothetical, but it illustrates how fickle many collectors can be."

What part of "It's purely hypothetical", don't you understand exactly?

It is a well sculpted statue, and the fact that it is the biggest yet, I think will add to it's value.

The part where you talk out of your ass.

I'm still game for Abomination because it's an amazing statue, I'm not a SS fanboy either, I just really like it for my Hulk PF... I knew the ES would not be as low as everyone anticipated and I'm still truthfully happy with this sculpt.

If everything goes well I will be getting this directly from SS, wish me luck on the saving plan. A couple hundred to chance it off eBay from a non-collector, I wouldn't chance it.... just my opinion.

People are just realistic about their ES. 350 for a $500 premium format is the epitome of ridiculous. They're only hurting themselves by making such a dumb decision on a statue. Don't get me wrong, it's a great statue, but Sideshow dropped the ball on this one.

i agree that the es may of been to big on this one, but in saying that i can't see this one going for a whole lot cheaper on the secondary market. (ex. that is, as for the reg, if it's near 750 - 1000 es then that could change things)

but with almost 1200 hulk pfs out there as well as some people that will get this even without the hulk:horror yes even without hulk ( i know of two myself). i can't see the ex. version going for a whole lot less that retail.

i guess we'll see in a year or two. if things keep going further into the tank economically, maybe we can get everything for below retail.:(

Me too!!:rock

If he goes up for 2nd chance, I might just put him on flex-pay. No way will I risk getting him from Ebay.

1. Sideshow makes more than they can sell all the time. Hence why they have stuff on sale, gift card, second chances and on giveaways. What Sideshow seems to think is that eventually they will sell out of the product one way or another. However, it will take up space in their warehouse until that happens.

2. Your hypothetical situation is far fetched and doesn't really make any kind of a point. They will secretly make less of something and cut their profit? I think they get a bigger discount at the factory if they produce more. Economies of scale and all that.

:horror Who?
Disappointing. They really should try and get one to go with it.

i agree, but they're cheap *****, and don't buy anything for more than retail.
they're thinking is that this economic melt down will make this stuff worth nothing in the future.:lol:lol
the only way that's happening is if we go into a full blown depression, and if that happens well i don't think they'll be buying statues at that point:confused:

What are they going to learn? They can't take orders and then tell people they can't have them, so I suppose you mean they should simply take fewer orders. How will they know how many to make, without orders taken in advance? They stopped taking orders 4 hours or so after it went up for order. That isn't very long. So all of the people who ordered that 350 who want to cancel now because it's too high an ES didn't really want to order one of these just to own. THEY only wanted one if it was 150 or less, because THEY wanted to be one of the 150 who had one, as opposed to everyone else who did not. According to you, it would have been ok if it would have been 100 or so, because YOU ASSUMED that YOU would be one of the 100, which is probably what 340 of the people who ordered thought. So you want a low ES , like the rest of the 350 who wanted a low es, yet it was all 350 of you who caused the es to be so high with YOUR orders. How ironic. If you REALLY wanted the es to be lower, maybe YOU shouldn't have ordered one. How about that? How is Sideshow supposed to know how popular the character is without taking orders to determine this? Perhaps you should loan them your crystal ball. All of you people who order this and then don't want to have it anymore simply because you all ordered it and caused them to make so many and hence the es is "TOO HIGH" for you, which is basically your fault are really being unfair to Sideshow collectibles. That is rather unfair to the company, dontcha think? Egotistical entitlement.

In response, I honestly thought the the $500 price tag was due to a low ES. I was willing to pay a little more if it was more limited and rare. Now seeing the higher than expected ES, I have a hard time justifying the $500 price tag. Is this a $500 statue? It's just large. There doesn't seem to be that much mixed media or details that would cause a much higher production cost.
