I understand custom repaints, because that could actually be unfair. Imagine someone sharing a repaint that looks insane, but doesn't reveal it cost them an extra $4k... However... Just some blood on the damn leg?! Holy hell that's ridiculous! Lmao
I listed what I did in the comment of the post too so yeah...anyways I have my pages and other groups I can share it. It is what it is. 😆

So here is my WIP shots of my blood effect. Got the materials to use from a friend of mine. This is the second coat drying. First coat was just the Neon Green paint. Then I did a layer of the still water. Waited for that to dry then I did a second coat of the water this time mixed with the green paint. I'm going to see how it looks when dry to see if I need to go again. If not I'll do one more final layer of the water effect just to make it pop a little more. Hope you like it. I based it off of when he gets injured in the leg after killing Blain. Also applied some of the water effect to the mandibles to simulate drool.
I wasn't a fan of the battle damaged green blood on leg but...

...you've won me over! Looks awesome and badass something that I will want to tinker with once I get the 1/3. Excellent job and thanks for sharing the photos including the product you used!

Thanks 🍻 who knows the more Prime 1 keeps adding stuff to their 1:3 it might come with a battle damaged leg as well 😆

See, I am like you. I make things my own. So, I loved you did that and I expect to do some things like that myself. I want Weta to do something more with the district 9 license. I have almost every one of those statues and guns. Except the gas chamber. But I will find it lol!!!

So after having this for almost two weeks I can say that this piece is till amazing and is the perfect pose for Predator.

It is IMO easily the best 1/4 scale Predator out there and it seems that the 1/3 will take the title of best 1/3 Predator. Not to mention Best statue ever regardless of genre.

My only negative I have about this piece is that the longer i have it the more brown he started to look. At first site I was just so amazed at how perfect the sculpt, pose, and base are that I thought the skin tones were, while darker, close enough to the film version. But as I said with a bit of time it really is obvious that Prime 1 went more for the cover art paint style rather then what they promised us with the Promo pics.

I think the fact they are making a movie accurate 1/3 scale is one of the, if not the main reason they changed up the colors a bit.

If the paint matched the promo pics they would be a perfect 10 out of 10. As is its close and the one thing that the owners of the SWS statue will always use to justify that theirs is the better statue. :lol ;)

Anyways browner paint or not its still amazing and I cant stop looking at it.

Masked and closed mouth are my fav. Gort I will never use. Open mouth is still great and I am using it right now. :)

whats sws?

Stan Winston Studios.
oh thank you, I mean I have the SWS side show maquette the first one and this one blows it out of the water. But I understand the browns are a but dark. But their is no comparison. Between that one and this one. You can see how much better the P1 is than the SWS ss maquette is. But to each there own. I always thought that predator was thin, and paint could be better. Its still an amazing statue. But no comparison at all. I ordered the one third just because we may never get another. So, I have some selling to do. I have to many statues and need to down side. Peace.

Inspiring. I think I'll be doing this on my SS maquette. He's good for something :)

''If it bleeds awesomeness, we can display it''.........:)

I laugh at people trying to sell that SWS for 3 grand or more. Good luck with that! haha
That would be a huge mistake to buy one of those at that price.

Other than having the Stan Winston Studios name on it I just don’t see the value anymore.

Now if you collect Predators and that is a piece that’s missing I could see going for it. But with the 1/4 out there now and the 1/3 coming I would not pay half that asking price.

Granted I am not a huge fan of that piece to begin with. But why pay 3000 for this when the far more accurate version is larger and the same price.

But hey good luck to them. if they can get that price more power to them.

What did the SWS piece originally go for?

It sucks for people like me who are sincerely trying to sell older stuff. On paper, you'd think it would help having a reasonably priced offering among so many gougers. But seeing others asking for 3x retail, then seeing me going for a slight markup over retail, I get a lot of, "There has to be a lot wrong with it!" I get a lot of hesitant, skeptical queries instead of actual sales.

Simple solution. Price it higher.

If anyone wants to sell their spear exclusive, please let me know. Or is that something that could be replicated?
