I agree. Normally I would start to lose interest by now after receiving a new statue, but I still find myself randomly walking into my theatre room just to stare at it lol. I don't really notice the brown paint, but I think it's because I got mine positioned under strong LED lights. So after having this for almost two weeks I can say that this piece is till amazing and is the perfect pose for Predator.
It is IMO easily the best 1/4 scale Predator out there and it seems that the 1/3 will take the title of best 1/3 Predator. Not to mention Best statue ever regardless of genre.
My only negative I have about this piece is that the longer i have it the more brown he started to look. At first site I was just so amazed at how perfect the sculpt, pose, and base are that I thought the skin tones were, while darker, close enough to the film version. But as I said with a bit of time it really is obvious that Prime 1 went more for the cover art paint style rather then what they promised us with the Promo pics.
I think the fact they are making a movie accurate 1/3 scale is one of the, if not the main reason they changed up the colors a bit.
If the paint matched the promo pics they would be a perfect 10 out of 10. As is its close and the one thing that the owners of the SWS statue will always use to justify that theirs is the better statue.
Anyways browner paint or not its still amazing and I cant stop looking at it.
Masked and closed mouth are my fav. Gort I will never use. Open mouth is still great and I am using it right now.
Despite what some people think, I don't personally think the skin tone change was intentional. I think this was a factory stuff-up. I've seen skin tones change on statues before where it wasn't the companies intention but the factory painted it that way. They probably just thought it was good enough and accepted it, or maybe it was intentionally darkened a bit as they assumed most people would display it under strong lighting (where it looks normal).
