How can there be way too many if it gives you the chance to pick and choose your favourite? If you didn't like any of them I would understand! It is a great time to be a collector with all the choice of films and collectibles available :clap

Fair enough that choice is always good, I was referring to the possibility of not pushing out so many Batman / Iron Man statues and figures and pour some time / love into other characters (ie. Dr. Fate, Martian Manhunter etc.) But obviously all these companies make a ton of money / sell out based on these characters due to their popularity so it will most likely never end.

No hate for Batman / Iron Man both of whom I like lol.

Hello everyone! Need some help and ill be honest as to why. As everyone here knows statue collecting can be quite expensive and this applies double to myself. I dont make a lot of money but when I see something I really really want I usually find a way to make it work. Most expensive piece I have ever bought was $400 and that was for the premium format Nathan Drake from SSC. It was also my first really big purchase. Fast forward a little bit Batman is by far my favorite DC character and his universe is my favorite across all comics. I have owned quite a few little Batman pieces throughout the year but have been searching for what you guys refer to as "GRAIL" piece.

Ever since seeing this one I have literally been glued to the forums just waiting for any sort of new pics or updates. This would be my first PRIME 1 piece and while I know the money is worth it it is still a lot of money to me personally. With that said I would have ZERO remorse buying this but here is my dilemma, and yes I know I have already went on way too long. I currently have the Hot Toys BvS Batman as well as the Deadpool figure on preorder, both running around $225 each. If I cancel both of those and combine that with the money I do have I can easily afford this piece and I know for a fact I would never sell it. Just curious for those who do more collecting than myself if that seems like a smart move. My reasoning is that Hot Toys will no doubt continue to release different versions of the above figures I mentioned when newer movies come out and obviously they will improve because they are doing so. While this Batman statue is a one and done and probably going to be sought after once it releases. I am SO sorry for going on so long but I genuinely want some good advice for those more experienced with these types of transactions and years of experience in the collecting business. Thanks again if you made it this long =D

It's entirely dependent on what direction you want to take your collection. I would keep Deadpool, but that's a matter of personal taste. I agree, there will always be updated versions of movie figures that are often better than the first, but HT's Deadpool seems pretty special and I would regret paying aftermarket prices for that more than Noel, especially if you aren't partial to the exclusive head. I like Bermejo's Batman design, but I think the pose for this is a bit overdramatic UNLESS you're pairing it to face-off with one of the villains, like Deathstroke or Two-Face. Since your budget is limited, I would wait for P1 to reveal its Jim Lee and Frank Miller pieces, as those might make better standalone statues (their later release dates will also give you more time to save in case you do decide to keep your HT pre-orders. :joy)

Thank you for the response and that all makes sense. The other thing that is kinda holding me back is the overall size, but at the same time its also something I love as its a massive piece. The biggest piece I own currently is only 16" so this guy would dwarf anything in my collection. I'm not sure over time if that will bother me enough to end up selling it as I don't see myself buying any other 30" statues. Like most I try to keep things uniform throughout.

In terms of awesomeness when on display, this probably beats ten Hot Toys, but of course it's all about priorities. What do you like more, figures or statues, what do those Hot Toys represent for you compared to Prime 1's statue, etc... Maybe you like Deadpool a lot more, maybe you liked Affleck's version of Batman a lot more as well.
I know I would personally cancel any figure-type order for a statue of this magnitude. Like you said it's a grail imo. Actually it's kinda crazy when you think about it that two HT's cost 50% of the price of such a work of art but that's just how I see it. I know they are awesome figures, extremely detailed, but this is twice the scale and on another level. The after market opportunities will also be much more common with Hot Toys figures, at least if you are aiming for the exclusive version, there will only be 750.

Money is tight for me as well when it comes to collecting, because it's not my priority as far as hobbies (far from it) so I have to be very careful with how I spend it and what I spend it on. I only aim for "the best" (in my eyes) and try to forget about all the more "minor" stuff that comes out, that I would love to have, but simply can't. That's what I did in this particular case, it's an expensive piece. Just ask yourself which piece would bring you more joy and awe, some people just love 1/6 figures, others like big statues. If you love both then it's all character/aesthetics dependent I guess.

I think as some have already mentioned it's based on preference and also as a collector it's almost an inevitable evolution to this hobby. I say that because I used to buy collector's editions of video games because I though the statues they came with were cool, this led to me skipping the video games all together and just buying action figures (first was Marvel Select Juggernaut since he looked too awesome), this moved into Kotobukiya stuff, and eventually landed on SS Dr. Doom LSF.

At the end of the day it just kept ending up being the 1/10 scale is cool but 1/6 looks better oh but the 1/4 looks cooler, wait the 1/3 looks so awesome, OMG 1/2 is just absolutely stunning! And I've yet to step into the OMG life size statue FTW!

Final payment is supposed to be the 10th of July. Does anyone think this will ship next month or are you expecting a delay email soon?

I really hope not, this guy along with Deathstroke and the 1:2 Supes from BvS are my most anticipated pieces that I have in po.

The final payment date is linked to how many payments you chose for your Flex plan in relation to when you ordered the product. It doesn't mean it will ship near that date considering that until the product actually ships, what Sideshow is providing is only an estimate. For example, my final payment is on August 25th.
We haven't seen a single production pic of the piece for now so I wouldn't expect it to ship soon. Before the release of the AK Batman there were quite a few production pics released by P1 on their social media pages, one can assume they will do the same thing with Noel.

Yeah. A few hours after I asked I got my last payment pushed back from July 10th to August 10th.

final payment moved to 8/5...got email this morning

Any update from P1? Maybe on the private facebook group?

Also who here has it pre-ordered (as in 100% sure not canceling it)? I am interested in getting an idea of the success of this piece, because my mind can't fathom that with only 750 EX it's still not on WL after all this time :lol

No updates that I have seen anywhere P1 related. AK has been released worldwide and will be arriving stateside in 2 weeks. Hope that means noel bats is right around the corner.

Sell out or not I am super stoked for this batman. Love this design.

Oh yeah they had the same release date estimate didn't they? Guess that means Noel is pretty close indeed.

I am perfectly fine with it not selling out as well, didn't buy this to own a valuable piece or flip it. It's just amazing that so many of their EX statues are on WL, even some that came out after Noel or around the same time, and yet this is still available.
I feel like it was the perfect piece for people like me who don't have an emotional attachment to the games (watched many videos but never played them). The design is still inspired by the Noel suit from the game but it originates from a comic book AND you get the white eyes, which is awesome imo.
Of course this one won't be the only alternative once Miller and Lee Bats are available.

You just answered your own question regarding why it is still available.

Also Prime1 is coming back to earth on their edition sizes for this line. Once Robin was up for preorder you could tell someone sat down and reset their ES strategy.

Indeed! Talk about a low ES!
Yeah I guess it makes sense in that price range.

I am one that pre ordered this early on and will certainly not be cancelling, same with Arkham Knight. I think we'll be seeing lower ESs on new pieces in this line (ala Two Face at 350 for EX but depending on the character upwards of 550-750 for EX), as well as future P1 lines...and we may even see it bleed into SS offerings, well maybe but I have a hunch. I think the days of 3,000-5,000+ ES are behind us (thankfully).

With prices hitting $1,000 for one piece all over the place these days, multiple companies making the same characters, refreshes of lines, and so much to choose from with P1 blowing the doors open with their new lines, I think companies will have to keep the ES low or face the music.....which I prefer anyway!

Cheers to a hopeful future of lower ES for all collectors!

Im afraid to make that jump to 1/3 scale but prime1 is really killing it with beautiful pieces such as this.I might just get one prime 1 bats and I think this video convinced me for noel.
